Item up for auction: Rare 1985 Toyota 4-runner 4x4 with removeable top, fuel injection AND solid axles! Item description, features and options: 2 door, removeable top, EFI 22R-4 cylinder engine, automatic transmission with push button overdrive, power steering and brakes, bucket seats, rear bench seat, rollbar, wagon wheels, fender flares, lockout hubs, 3" suspension lift kit, 31"x10.50 tires, skylight sunroof (does not open), high-low range 4x4, etc....... Tire condition: In good tread condition with minor weathering/wear and have about 60-70% tread. Interior condition: Just fair, seats have tears, headliner is ripped, carpets are worn, no radio but still comfortable and very useable. Body/Exterior condition: Solid and straight overall, especially for an 85 Toyota!! Very minor blisters starting on rockers, small spot of rust on drivers rear gate inside but solid, solid body overall. Front bumper has a ding or two, a door ding and hood ding here and there, but solid overall and straight. Way better than most I've seen. Not full of bondo and no rust bucket....Looks solid and looks very good! Sunroof is aftermarket/added and is not a type that opens. No apparent leaks noticed. Rear gate window was working but now does not get power and the window fell off track. All there but will need fixed. Underneath condition: Nice and solid also with good solid floors, rear cargo floor under mat is solid, solid body mounts and a solid frame....no patches, no welds, not soft.....SOLID. Paint condition: Flat black/primered and looks good....actually looks really cool, but not a Barrett-Jackson show piece!! Mechanical condition: Starts up and runs very good. No odd engine noises, no smoke and idles good/revs up strong! Great running 22R engine! Exhaust is missing tailpipe so it sounds like there is an exhaust leak but still sounds good. Transmission shifts properly and the 4x4 works properly as well! Drives and handles good and is just a cool little Toyota that seems to run/work just fine. *****Truck has been sitting in barn for past several years. Been in same family since new. The gentleman I bought from said his son inherited and started to fix up earlier this year and put in new plugs, new fuel pump, waterpump, transmission flush, some brake work, etc......Got it running and driving and looking good but then lost interest and bought a new truck. Needs minor tlc and gone over to make right but would make a great off road/rock crawler build or just use as it is for a daily driver.....or both!! Drive while you fix up/buiuld up!! I bought it for my son to do the same but he does not want a Toyota....he wants a Jeep, so now I need to sell it as well.......these fickle kids!! I drove about 30-40 miles total and it seemed to run, drive and work just fine with no known issues besides what was mentioned. Cool little driver and seems to work fine. I recommend towing or trailering simply because it has not been on the road in years and has been sitting.....BUT......I do not see any real problems with driving, so I leave that up to buyer. I am not mechanical with imports, so just my recommendation. It is a good old Toyota that is solid, runs/works well and looks very good.....neat Toy!! Best year built as I am told with it being the only year for solid axles AND fuel injection.....perfect builder!! Mileage status: 142k miles. Exempt on title due to age/over 10 years old.
