1996 Mazda Miata. Bought in Florida, no rust. Owned 5 years and 12,000 miles. Hasnt seen snow, stored every winter. Car runs and drives good but the ride is hard. Most of the work was done as preventative maintenence. The Good: Replaced the following. Water pump, Timing belt, Front cam and crank seals, Belts, Radiator hoses, Tires Kumho Solace, Poly sway bushings, Solid Adjustable end links, Front u[per control arms new $700, Lower balls, Tie rods In and out, Shocks Gabriel, Short throw shifter, Added a few braces. Cheap coil over springs. Fiberglass fenders. Master and slave clinder for clutch. Sony xplode and infinty speakers. More I cant remember. The Bad: Cheap Coil over springs. Ride is stiff and a little high. Has not been corner weighted. original springs included. Has the "65mph shimmy". The 1-2 shift is hard when cold but is ok after driving a short while. See www.miata.net for more details on these issues. Paint is a 5 out of 10. Looks good at 10 feet or with a fresh wax. Sun faded across hood. Fender match hood not sides. Color is a blue green shifting , More green on doors and rear quarters more blue on hood and fenders. Other minor issues, Chip in windshield, Dash is cracked in 2 places in the defrost vent piece, Cigarette burn in driver seat.
