2002 BMW R1150GS ADVENTURE- 65,700 miles. I have owned this bike for 2 years and have enjoyed every mile. This bike runs very well, has been recently serviced by BMW dealer and is in very good, very clean condition. Heated Grips, stock BMW side cases (a few scratches, latch on left case broken). Exhaust is stock stainless unit. ABS brakes. Stock lowered seat with no scuffs or tears. Also included with bike is a BMW battery (gel) charger with accessories, a cigarette lighter adapter and a cargo net (very handy). Add-on’s include driving lights, turn signal tender, updated tail lights, updated dual horns, headlight protector, cylinder head protection, throttle lock ‘cruise control’. Absolutely no leaks or drivetrain issues. Trying to get one last ride last winter before putting it away (always in a climate controlled garage), the weather moved in and leaving work the bike and I slid on a frosted parking lot at low to no miles per hour landing on the left side scratching the cylinder protector and bar (see pics). This also broke the latch on the left case, which I have not repaired. No other damage beside cosmetic (and my pride). The bike is located in the North Kansas City area and can be seen by appointment. Would prefer to sell without shipping but... On Aug-22-11 at 17:54:20 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had several questions regarding the bike... I have added a picture of the broken latch on the left hard case. Repair will require drilling out the rivets inside the case and repairing the latch. I travel out of state all week and it has just not been a priority as I can ride without or... I zip tie it onto the rail and it works fine. This thing is a workhorse... I have food shopped for my family, filling the side cases and loading up with 3 cases of water without any issue. I have been asked if this bike has any mechanical issues and if it can be driven reliably long distance. I would not hesitate to drive this bike across the country, right now, with little to no preparation. The rear tire will need to be changed before next season but it can be driven any distance without fail. I know of NO mechanical issues, no leaks, no problems. Completed 3/12/11 (65,045 miles) at Engle Motors in Kansas City: Engine oil change with filter, Gearbox oil change, Battery check, check brakes and change front and rear brake fluids, clutch fluid checked, side stand switch checked, side stand pivot greased, spark plugs changed, valves adjusted, Throttle bodies checked and syncronized, tire pressure and spoke tension checked. Service record will accompany sale. The battery charger is a BMW unit purchased 3/19/11for $74.33. Feel free to ask anything else.
