Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1986 Chevrolet K10 Silverado short-bed four-wheel drive truck with 86,361 original miles. The truck is equipped with its original 305 CID V8 engine, and 700R4 overdrive transmission. This truck has not been molested, and is still in mostly original condition. As you can see from the pictures, it’s a good looking truck that is mostly solid, but it will require some body work and paint to be a great-looking truck (or just drive it and enjoy it as-is.) The previous owner had riveted replacement cab corners as a “quick fix” to pass NH state inspection, and they would need to be removed and welded-on for a proper fix. The top side of both rocker panels look excellent, but there is some bubbling in the paint toward the bottom’s. The floorboards are in excellent shape, as you can see from the underside pictures. Both front inner fenders are original and are showing rot in the typical spots in the rear of the wheelwell. If you’re not familiar with these trucks, the inner fenders are both, cheap and easy to replace. The inside of the bed/tailgate are in excellent shape, with zero rust. As far as other rust goes, there are a few spots popping through the paint here and there, but overall, this is a very solid truck. The truck has been repainted in its original two-tone colors once in the past (copper-canyon and tan), and it looks pretty good. In place of the original rear bumper is a FEY step & tow chrome bumper. The interior, overall, is in great shape. The truck has a 100 percent perfect, original dash pad (no cracks or fading), a tan cloth bench seat with great foam and only a couple of cracks in the vinyl side panel on the drivers side, tan carpet that’s in good shape, GM rubber floor mats (original?) and stainless steel Silverado trim and instrument panel bezel. The truck is equipped with a JVC cd player, and all of the speakers work great. Overall, the one sore spot of the interior is the sagging headliner (see pic), which is easily replaced, or removed altogether. All the glass is in excellent shape. The truck has tilt steering, power locks and windows, but the drivers side window has recently stopped working . . . you can hear the motor turning, but it’s not doing anything. I haven’t bothered looking into it any further yet. Everything else electrical (including all of the exterior lights) works perfectly. The truck is equipped with air conditioning, but it doesn’t blow especially cold and will probably need a re-charge. The engine runs well but has a hesitation when the accelerator is pressed quickly . . . not sure if it needs a good tune-up, or the carburetor rebuilt/replaced. The valve covers gaskets leak oil and should be replaced, and the RH side fuel tank (has dual tanks) smells of fuel, but doesn’t seem to leak a drop. The truck rides down the road nice, smooth and rattle-free, and shifts through all gears exactly the way it should. The truck has Warn locking hubs and the 4WD also works excellent. Tires are nearly-new 31-inch all-terrain's This is a no-reserve auction, started at less than the amount I have into it. I'm currently building a house, and unfortunately have to part ways with the truck to help fund it. This is a great truck for the money and will likely make its new owner very happy for many miles to come. Truck is sold on a bill-of-sale only . . . NH—like many other states—does not require a title for registration if the vehicle is over 15 years old. If your state requires a title, one can usually be obtained, however. I do have NH's "Sale of an untitled vehicle" form, which is signed by a Notary Public and should carry the same weight as a title in most states. Perspective buyers are welcome to come take a look at the truck in person, but the truck is not for sale locally (I hate it when people do that)—only here on ebay. Truck is sold as-is with no warranty expressed or implied, and buyer is responsible for pick-up and/or and shipping charges. Payment is due no later than 7 days from the end of the auction, but I don’t mind storing the truck for a little while, while shipping or pick-up arrangements are made.
