Car is being relisted . So called buyer was more interested in a joy ride that a purchase! If you are not serious, please do not waste my time or your time. Thank You. Up for your approval, my 1936 Buick Special four door sedan. Burgundy(dark maroon) with gray interior. I have owned this car for 13 years, and its time to slim down the collection, as the kids college tuition looms on the horizon. Drive train is all stock, straight eight engine with three speed manual transmission floor shift. In the 13 years that I have owned the car, I have driven it approximately 3000 miles. Options include : white white wall tires(plenty of tread left) under dash heater/defroster(works great) factory clock(yes it works) and dual door mounted side view mirrors. Work done in the last year: New driver quality paint including dash board,steering column, and interior window frames. Rebuilt starter,new battery,valve lash adjustment, rebuilt brakes, and all new brake hoses, major tune up, oil change etc. This is a nice solid driver, not a show car!I had the generator rebuilt a few years ago, replaced the water pump when it started to whine, and basically did whatever was necessary to keep it runnig and on the road. If you are looking for a 100 point trailer Queen, keep looking,( and be prepared to shell out $25-30 Grand or more) If you are looking for a nice solid relaible driver to take to your local cruise night/car show read on. Frame is solid, floorboards(yes they are made of wood!)are solid, and the inside of the trunk at the bottom is solid...I have seen a lot of older cars rotted out there. Running board covers are nice, all glass is good and clear. Front and rear seat belts installed by me. Interior was done over by the previous owner, still looks good, nice headliner too. Dash was repainted last year. Engine runs well, never overheated even in NYC stop and go traffic. No knocks, heavy smoke, or funny noises. Trans shifts well, and car steers easily. Fun and easy to drive, as long as you are not in a hurry. Battery was moved from under front seat to under hood by previous owner, that makes it much easier to get to, like when you want to hook up a trickle charger to it. Original battery box is still under the front seat cushion. Vacumn wipers work also, as does speedometer,odometer,oil gauge,amp gauge. A temperture gauge was added underdash by the previous owner--I dont know if the stock gauge wasnt working, or he didnt think it was accurate. Gas gauge bounces around, so it will need some repair. What does it need? As mentioned, gas gauge needs repair. Small bubbles in paint at the bottom of the trunk lid. Automatic choke not hooked up. Previous owner painted clearcoat over bumpers and grill, and after14 years its starting to lift, so it should be removed. Rear quarter wing windows were removed and replaced with a solid piece of glass.Gas pedal starter switch was replaced with an underdash pull knob, making it much easier to pump the pedal while starting the car. In the 13 years I have owned the car it has worked on a good number of movies, weddings, proms,retirement parties,anniversaries,etc.Movie credits include" Joe Goulds Secret" (Stanley Tucci) "Hollywood Ending"(Woody Allen,),"The Jade Scorpion"(Woody Allen)"The Good Shepard" (Angelina Jolie,Matt Damon)"Sweet Low Down" (Woody Allen)," Cadillac Records"(Adrian Brody and Beonce) and this years HBO miniseries"Mildred Pierce" with Kate Winslet and Evan Rachel Wood. The car was the "hero " car, as it was her own vehicle in the miniseries(see picture below with me, the unseen chauffeur) and she drove it quite nicely! The car has been good to me, and I have been fortunate enough to have gotten a good deal of work with it. Of course being a 75 year old car, there is no waurentee implied or otherwise. Since the car is also for sale locally, I reserve the right to end the auction early. Non refundable down payment of $1000(one thousand) dollars due within 48 hours of the end of the auction.
