Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1992 Honda Accord EX Wagon. This car was in Florida for the first half of its life, so it is not rusted out like these usually are. This wagon is green with tan leather interior and all options. -Power Windows/Door Locks/Mirrors -Power Sliding Sunroof -Alpine CD Player -Cold A/C -Working Cruise Control -Alloy Wheels -Leather Seats (Good Condition for age-see pics) -Tinted Windows (After Market) More pictures can be seen here: http://s1194.photobucket.com/albums/aa369/md20x2/1992%20Honda%20Accord%20EX%20Wagon/ I have put over $2000 into this car to get it right to keep or sell. Repairs and maintenance items I have had done in the last three months: -Replaced engine- This vehicle was not running when I purchased it. I gambled on the engine being good and I was wrong! Replacement engine was purchased from an EBay seller located about an hour from here (worldsbestparts located in Portsmouth, OH - 100% positive feedback rating. Another item from the same car for your reference: 260821286050). Donor car and motor had approximately 133K miles so the motor has a bit less mileage than the body. -4 new spark plugs -New Timing Belt and Water Pump -All other Belts Replaced: Balance Shaft, Power Steering, and A/C/Alternator Belt -Fresh Oil and Filter -Seals Replaced including the Front Camshaft Seal, Balance Shaft Seal, Rear Main Seal, Cam Seal, and Oil Pump Seal -Rear Fluid-Filled Motor Mount Replaced -Both Front Axles Replaced -Fresh Antifreeze -Replaced A/C Condenser Cooling Fan Assembly -Replaced Driver Side Rear Window Regulator and Motor (All Power Windows Now Work) -Replaced Brake Light Switch -New Purolator Air Filter -All New Wiper Blades including Rear Wiper -New Battery w/ 72 month warranty from O'Reilly Auto (http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/SSB0/2472.oap?year=1992&make=Honda&model=Accord&vi=1167173&ck=Search_C0423_1167173_-1&pt=C0423&ppt=C0005) -Replaced Driver Side Rear Brake Caliper All repairs were done at two reputable local shops and documentation will be included. The previous owner had also replaced and repaired several items fairly recently though I do not have documentation for these items and I do not know exactly when they were done: -Newer Radiator -Newer Starter -New Trunk Lid Struts -Newer Tires (probably at least 3/4 of the tread remaining) -Replaced Exhaust (Note in the pictures that replacement exhaust has a straight tailpipe rather than the original curve, so it exits the car a few inches to the left of the original. Probably would look better if this was changed but it works perfectly.) This car has aftermarket shocks on the front (it is lowered slightly- mechanic says they are about $200 each), aftermarket Alpine head unit and Pioneer speakers, and tinted glass. You will also see a solar panel on the dash in the pictures. This is connected to the car battery (also see in pictures under hood) to help prevent a dead battery- so I am told. This car has no rust-through! This car has a few remaining MINOR problems: -ABS Light comes on after driving for 30 seconds or so and goes out when the car is turned off. My mechanic believes the ABS pump needs replaced, although this may be as simple as an ABS relay or fuse. You can find the pump salvaged for $50-$100 (www.car-part.com) if it is bad and you want to replace it. Braking performance is not affected and the brakes are otherwise good. I did replace one caliper that was sticking. I decided that the next owner might not like ABS any more than I do, so I will let you decide whether to fix the ABS or not. -Power Door Locks Unlock fine, but will not lock from the switch. All doors can still be locked manually from the inside or with the key. The car key has a button that I assume is for keyless entry. I do not know if it would work with new batteries or not. -Power Antenna is broken and the radio tuner does not work. CD Player is fine (and sounds great through the after market speakers!). -Passenger Side Rear Taillight is cracked- works fine and you can't tell from a few feet away. The plastic clip that holds the bumper panel on this corner is also broken or missing, so the panel sticks out about 1/4". I assume that someone backed into something at a low speed or was hit at low speed, cracking the light and this plastic clip. Neither one of these are noticeable from any distance so I have not fixed them. The AutoCheck says the car was involved in an accident around 70K and I assume this is what it is referring to. I should emphasize that there is absolutely NO EVIDENCE that this car has been repainted or had body work done. You can even still see the original dealer's logo on the left of the tailgate from Pompano Beach, FL (although it is almost completely faded off), so I am confident that there was no significant damage to the rear. This car HAS NOT been wrecked to my knowledge. It has a clear title! (See pictures for verification) -The car has a wide variety of light to moderate scratches, scrapes, scuffs, minor fading/paint oxidation and a couple SMALL dings. The back bumper, mirrors, bumper corners, rear bumper, gas cap, driver rear door area, and bottom of the decklid are the worst areas. A little touch up paint and some polish or rubbing compound would take care I think nearly all of it, but I decided not to hide anything prior to selling. It's a '92 model and nothing is worse than should be expected for the model year! Everything is visible in the pictures. No rust! The car looks great from a few feet away. Overall, this is a REALLY nice car for its age. I have tried to be very detailed in describing these few problems so that you will have no surprises upon delivery. It runs great and it looks really nice when it's cleaned up. I have had it professionally detailed inside and out and it is very clean for the model year. I removed the floor mats (came from a newer Accord) and shampooed them myself before taking the pictures. I also got a new WV safety inspection sticker put on it last week so if you are from West Virginia you are in good shape until July '12. The car can be seen locally in Huntington, WV. We are a short drive from the Tri-State Airport in Kenova, WV and less than an hour from Yeager Airport in Charleston, WV. Cincinnati and Columbus, OH are less than 4 hours away. I have re-listed the car with NO RESERVE, so the buyers will determine the true market value this time. Feel free to send me your questions and good luck bidding! Note: Seller reserves the right to end auction early- this vehicle is for sale locally. If you don't live in this area, please don't bother contacting me about "the least I will take." I have listed this on an auction so that I can get the most I can. There is no reserve and a BUY IT NOW price. Please pick one of those options if you want the car.
