There is no reserve on this VW, just want it to go to a good home. 1991 Volkswagen Vanagon. the last year of the rear-engine vw vans. 2.1 liter water cooled engine, 4 speed, pwr windows and locks. It has a table in cargo area and the rear seat turns into a full-size bed. this van was my daily driver for about 2 years. it has new brakes all around, new tie rod ends, and the gas tank/evaporation system was resealed. It is a 4cylinder engine that runs strong. I have replaced several coolant hoses and there are now known coolant leaks, both heads are good (NO leaks). The upholstery is in great shape for 20 years old except for one cigarette hole on the driver's seat that dates back to the original owner. I know this van has not been smoked in for quite a few years though. clear texas title. stickers recently expired. I got this van in 2008 after it had already begun to be used as a parts van, I thought it looked cool (check out the factory decals). I replaced most of what had been removed with working/new parts, including: shifter, distributor, cargo area gray carpet, speedometer, window switches (power windows work), wiper arms, sliding window lock, and some relays. I also had 2 keys made by code so they fit perfectly. I have the owner's manual. I added a 3rd brake light to the top of the van because I thought the brake lights weren't bright enough. Look at the pic, looks good. It is a black low-profile LED light bar that looks like it came from the factory but actually was used on late 90s Suburbans and Chevy vans. The not-so-good: It has a new Sony CD player with aux. plug for ipod, but only has speakers in front because the AC system was removed, tires are older but serviceable (not for long distance trip), one small dent on driver's side rear (see pic) and it has surface rust (nothing going through the metal). It does come with the AC compressor and the plastic covers tunnel for the inside. Will it make a cross-country trip? Probably, but keep in mind that it is a 20-plus year old vehicle. I have described this van to the best of my ability and as accurately as possible. I am selling it because I need something newer, safer, and with AC for my kids. On Aug-19-11 at 22:06:11 PDT, seller added the following information: CLARIFICATIONS and ANSWERS: The original speedometer died at 170K and was replaced with one which does mark the speed but not the miles traveled (odometer). I have estimated another 5000 miles since it was replaced, making the 175K miles an estimate. but the carfax seems to support the estimate. All other instruments appear to be working. The van does have a gray curtain set that comes with it to provide more privacy when camping. The heater works great and the rear heater core was purchased new in 2008. It also likes to mark its spot with oil like most VWs. There seems to be no problem with the transmission shifting and no grinding. The engine still runs strong.
