On auction is a 1956 Willys CJ5. It has a F-134 engine with a Solex carb. A Saturn overdrive is installed and allows the Jeep to hit over 60mph (Wow! Just remember it has 9in drum brakes all around!) The electrical system was converted to a 12v system and the wipers now run on two 12v motors instead of vacuum lines. The gas tank was relocated under the rear and is stainless steel. It also holds 4 more gallons than the stock gas tank. The tub, hood and fenders are fiberglass with the grill and windshield made of steel. The roll bar extends down to the frame. The rear cargo area has a removable storage trunk that is lockable. The full soft top is in fair condition and a bikini top is included. The wheels are Mickey Thompsons with 30 X 9.50 Medalist Sport Kings. A full size spare is included. Here are the issues with the Willys: The engine currently will not start, it will only backfire. I put in a pertronix electronic ignition module and cannot get it timed correctly. The engine turns over freely and ran fine until I tried this upgrade. The rear right brake cylinder has a slow leak. I have a new replacement cylinder that I will include. The battery stopped holding a charge, so you will need to get a new one. There is some rust around the headlights and rust spots on the wheels. The lower parts of the roll cage (under the jeep) have surface rust on them. The jeep is fun to drive and does great off road. Just a little help and she can be back on the road quickly!
