Vehicle Detail

Take it home and finish it.. Up for auction is a restoration project car with parts car: Restoration project: I have had this car for about 5 years – It is now collecting dust and needs to be finished…and I can not get to it. It is a 1964 Volvo 122s wagon sitting on car dollies. I purchased it from Oklahoma and transported it to Wisconsin. It still has the Oklahoma title signed to me – I have not titled it in Wisconsin. In the time I have owned it: The entire car was stripped clean of all attachments and windows and media blasted to bare metal (~1.5 years ago) then sprayed with a protective primer by a professional body shop. All body work was done at the shop as well – this included installation of new pressed floor pans on passenger front and rear, new metal skin on tailgate, metal repair of rusted areas around windows and general metal repair over entire car where rust had eaten away areas. I took some liberties and had the rear reflector holes filled and the holes for the license pate holder filled on the lower tailgate. The underside was painted with a protective hard shell black coating – rust inhibitive coating was sprayed inside the lower quarter panels. The car originally had a chromed roof rack (which I still have); however I had the holes filled for this as well. The entire car and pieces have been painted a blue color of my choosing – This car was originally White with Red interior (I was going for blue with red interior) The entire front end body panels and floor pans are brand new OEM reproductions imported from Sweden (purchased from GCP.SE) – this includes new front clip, new passenger and driver side front fenders. Holes for the trim pieces will need to be drilled. The front clip is currently set up for the 1965 and later style grill inserts (which I have very good condition ones) The entire drive train is what needs attention next. You could opt to install the rest is - I suppose - but I already started on the front suspension (rust removal and painting). I have the “numbers matching” B-18 to go with it. This car was not running when I purchased it – but the engine turned and had a knock (which seemed like the timing gear to me) – I looked at the pistons and cylinder walls and everything else seemed/seems in line – All glass is good except the front windshield which I cracked while removing it – but the parts car has a good one (albeit a little scuffed from the windshield wipers) Most trim pieces are in good to very good condition and need light reconditioning So far I have used stainless steel bolting and/or Grade 8 bolting (where appropriate) The parts car This is also a 1964 Volvo 122s wagon (although I think it is a slightly earlier production because there were differences between the two – the rear seat lifts up and the two had different hinge styles –also this one had front door panels with ‘wings’ from the dashboard which I thought was more indicative of 1962-1963. This is the car I drove for about a year and it was purchased from Utah – I still have the Utah title. The rusting on this one was to extensive for me to swallow which is why the other Volvo was chosen for restoration – turned out they were nearly the same in rust just different locations. This car has an unmolested dashboard – The radio worked when I removed it and the car ran nicely – the engine is still in it. I removed the heater core to use in the other car and I used one of the doors already. This car has a nice example of the grille with the ‘spears’ as part of it (the other car has the 1965+ style grill in very nice condition). I also had the interior front door panels painted blue so that I could have the dashboard ‘wings’ as well on the restored car. Some of the trim pieces on this car are better than was on the other. ____________________________________________________________________ Between the two cars everything is there. So far I have spent over 15K on bodywork/paint/dollies/parts, etc….. I’m asking for 2K for both as a minimum (as I know transporting and shipping both and all the parts can be expensive… However, if bidding reaches 4K or higher (only 4K and higher, no less) I will include the following brand new items that I have also purchased but did not install: Linear Sport Springs set (front and rear -advertised to lower car by 1”) IPD front and rear swaybars - New pressed metal passenger side front and rear floor plans (ordering mix up – now I have extra) New (from Skandix) exhaust kit (for original B-18)- in box New Headliner (white perforated vinyl) New fender mirror (beautiful, made in Britain) – wanted that 60’s look New side mirror (really for a mustang but I thought it looked pretty good facsimile to the one I removed) Also if 4K or higher, I will also throw in all of the purchases I’ve made of other pieces/parts including very good condition ash trays, a radio delete, sunvisors, steering wheels, etc…… All of this is simply collecting dust – somebody please take it and finish it right. If bidding does not reach 4K or higher I will sell all those pieces separately. I reserve the right to end the auction early – Buyer is responsible for shipping/transportation of vehicle and all parts. I am willing to work with the buyer for ‘storing’ things for as much a 30 days – further negotiations possible pending sale. - $500 within 3-days – by Paypal – In full within 1 week as listed. Please excuse this first posting which does not have pictures I will have pictures up by tomorrow (if all goes well) – and can send pics by request. On Aug-13-11 at 07:07:34 PDT, seller added the following information: Update/clarification: I have a title pending for Wisconsin for the partially restored vehicle - final sale price and transfer was going to be reflected on this title - I was not going to title the parts car because I was going to send to the salvage yard once complete - If you require title on both on purchase we can arrange for that - Either way if the title(s)is not available at the time of sale you can withhold final full payment pending receipt of the title - meanwhile you are welcome to take the vehicles with the 'good faith' deposit of $500. Vin\Car info for both vehicles: Type 22244 VD Chasis # 12790 (partially restored) 17607 (parts car) Color Code 79-1 Interior Code 508-255 As you can see the parts car has a later chasis number despit having installed earlier model front grill inserts, front interior front door panels and earlier style rear brake lights
