You are bidding on a beautiful 1966 230SL,with both tops.I am only the third owner+I have receipts going all the way back to when the car was bought new in Belgium by a Col, in the USAF.Even though the title says exempt,by looking at the receipts I believe the 46,000 miles are actual.This is a rare chance to own a Mercedes convertible that has been pampered its whole life[I have 35,590.00 in receipts that goes with the car],if anytime anything was wrong with the car it was fixed professionally with no expense spared.There is NO RUST on this car anywhere,it starts right up,drives down the road straight with no pulling to the left or right,the trans shifts into each gear like it should+the suspension feels like a new 230SL when you are driving it!The body is straight as an arrow,the paint is a beautiful white with just a hint of gold pearl overlay+shines beautifully.The soft top is like brand new+so is the interior which has been redone in black leather[seats,door panels,dash etc.]+original type carpet,all the wood has been redone and looks brand new+the tires are almost brand new.,I just took it on a 3hr drive in 90 degree heat and it drove and functioned perfectly.Now for the not so good points.The clock and radio don't work,there is a small streak on the pass. side windshield that should buff out[from wiper],there are 2 small scratches[maybe 1/2 in long] that are hard to see[I couldn't get them to show up in the pics],just behind the hardtop+1 small split in the paint[smaller than a dime] between trunk+hardtop.The chrome is original and still nice nice but showing its age a little.All in all this is a nice 230Sl that looks very nice and has been kept up mechanically its whole life and should provide years of reliable driving for the new owner.I have the 3 original owners manuals,factory service manual,original receipts from Belgium and transport over to USA,a car cover,a dash cover,original jack and spare and a clear title in hand.Any questions call me10am-5pm mon-fri] 1-208-664-0125 or allow me 24hrs to return emails,Harry.
