Vehicle Detail

I have a very nice 93 Benz 2.5 Inline 5 Turbo Diesel automatic with only 144k miles in great condition. Miles are original, look at the history report, ABOVE AVERAGE! The car spent all of its life in Alabama and South Carolina. Has no rust! Only year of this model (last yr) that has dual airbags. Has ICE COLD AC, cruise works, pwr everything, sunroof, leather, etc. LOADED... Brand new tires, AC fan, all the fluids have been recently changed, oil, antifreeze, brakes flushed, transmission fluid/filter changed w/ synthetic. New fuel filters and rubber fuel lines, etc. Just had the following done at a local shop, injection pump seals, crankcase seal, intake seal, vac. pump seal and Timing Chain Tensioner. I have the receipt! Car is a dream to drive, safe and gets 25-32 mpg... All gauges, warning lights work, none are on. Comes with original maint. log that has all oil changes, etc up until about 120k miles or so. Guy I purchased it from said last couple of owners has done their own maint. Car has been at 2 local independant shops and both found only minute issues, and said it was a gem they don't see too often. During the winter the car started right up old cold mornings without the use of the block heater, which shows the engine is in good condition. Interior is in excellent condition showing very little wear (only some surface cracks on the wood console) common issue, otherwise very nice. Body is excellent and straight, has one minute door ding on each side, not even noticable unless you look for them. No scratches. Body is excellent for the age of the car. The Bad/Needs noting: The hood needs painting (clear coat is peeling) and has acouple places needing touched up. (Was quoted $400 to do paint to touch up the 3 bad areas) See below for pics showing areas to note. Power mirrors do not work because the button is broke. (One can be bought here on ebay) I am not sure if the sunroof works, but since it doesn't leak and I have read horror stories online I never tried to open it. The car isn't new it has some idiosyncrasys, like the wipers have to be in right spot, small oil leak/seep, etc all things that are normal for a car of this age. Overall a very nice for its age! Ofcourse the car does smoke some on heavy acceleration, etc, it is a diesel. If you know anything about these cars I believe you will appreciate this one. Previous owner changed the turbo control to the old vaccuum controlled style with parts from an older MB Diesel (design used in the cars from the MB generation before this one), if you read online there are a few sensors and If everything isn't "just right" it will not work correctly. However all the parts are still there should you want to change it back, what I was told by the previous owner, it needed a sensor he believed. These cars are hard to find, you don't see many as people don't want to get rid of them (read the reviews). If you are familar with these cars you know they are somewhat of a collectable, and this car is just getting broke in. Searh for OM602 (engine) and W124 (chassis), as they won awards for their longevity, some reaching over a million miles. This car has been cared for very well you can tell, as it shows little signs of wear and use considering its age. You may find one w/ less miles but you won't find a newer one as this is the last year of this model and was sold end of 1993. I bought this car for my mom who wanted a car that was safe and got great mpg but now she doesn't like it. We have now spent alot of time and money to make it a great daily driver, our loss your gain. Please email for more info and/or pictures. Picture #5 shows the clear coat peeling on the hood. Picture #6 shows the area around the passanger rear/gas cap area, the paint is faded. Picture #9 you can't really see it but where the glare is in the picture the paint is starting to fade. Besides these 3 areas shown, the paint looks great. Years of southern sun and heat has also faded the interior a little. But there is no cracks in any of the interior/dash/leather... The good thing is there is no rust on the car, even the exhaust looks great! Car is amazing and a reasonable price the same car with 100k MORE miles and 4 years older than this one just sold for over $3500 on here. If you know anything about these cars, this is a diamond that would be almost perfect w/ a little paint Emails will go to my phone for fast responce. Call or text 864-9zero7-3245 Car is for sale locally, so listing may end at anytime. Car is sold "as is", if there's any questions please ask. The car is worth more than we're asking, from recent online sales but we just want the car sold to go on with our lives. I have tried to note everything I know about the car, but may have missed something, please ask questions and/or come look if you are interested. Thanks!
