Vehicle Detail

Hello. Up for bids is my 1955 Ford Fairlane Sunliner (Convertible), still equipped with its original 272 cu.in V8 engine (the largest and most powerful engine available for 1955) coupled to the original Ford automatic transmission. Original options include Power Windows, Power Seats, Power Top. I acquired this car a little while back with the firm intention of restoring it (Think about it : How many of these 1955 Sunliners do you REALLY see around ? It was an occasion I surely could not pass), but life has its priorities and now, facing a move next month, I realized I will never find the time to bring it back to its former glory, so decided to advertise it on eBay and give someone else the chance to own it. Needless to say this Sunliner needs restoration, but it is mostly all complete, just missing two hubcaps, the 2 rear fender moldings and the original in-dash radio. That's it. Originally, it came out from the factory in black and yellow, however the previous owner (actually, it appears this car only knew 3 owners ~ including myself ~ since new) had it painted Light Blue, most likely in the 1980's. The car has been in storage since 1989, the engine is not frozen and turns freely, however I never attempted to start it. It still has the original oil-filled air filter, generator, etc ... Most importantly, this Fairlane Convertible is All-original and was never turned into a Hot rod. It's got some corrosion problems here and there, parts of the floor pans need attention, the bumpers definitely will need replacement, the convertible top frame needs re-welding, and there is a dent at the rear left 1/4 panel above the bumper (see pictures.) What more can I say? For years, the 1955/1956 Fords have remained in the shadow of their Chevy counterparts, but things are surely changing and within the past few years their value has sure been increasing as demand increased accordingly, nowadays the Sunliners are really becoming harder and harder and more expensive to find. So, here's your chance to acquire one of them cheaply enough and start restoring it to build the 1950's convertible of your dreams! A $500.00 deposit is required within 24 hours of auction's end, full payment within a week. Shipment is the responsibility and at the charge of the buyer, you choose your own transporter, however I can help by locating one for you. I tried to cover every angle, however may have missed something, so if you have any questions, please feel free to email me an I'll answer immediately. Thanks. Good luck if bidding!
