1967 Triumph Trophy

This 1967 TRIUMPH TR6C TROPHY started a few years ago as a fair but not quite all original rider. Over the past 3 years I have carefully restored this bike to the point where it won "Best British " at the 2010 concours at Willow Springs during the "Corsa Classica" event. The trophy plaque is included with the bike. Very correct but please note that this was NOT a full nut and bolt restoration. The engine was not removed from the frame. Lots of time and money with many new parts, resulting in a very presentable example of a bike that many consider to be the best looking Triumph.of the 60s. This bike came originally WITHOUT the optional center stand. As a result this left a lot of stress on the side stand and just about every US model TR6C ended up with a broken side stand mount. The original off-road rear tire meant that the bike sat higher and lent over even more to the point where the bike almost tipped over! Many period photos show the TR6C with a small stone or piece of wood stuck under the side stand! I guess Triumph engineers were not aware of this problem! I am English and have noticed that whereas in Europe people generally stand astride the bike and kick start with the bike OFF the stand, in the US riders try to kick start with their bikes ON the stand. The side stand bracket on this bike has been repaired. I put a brand new STREET Dunlop K70 on the rear as I believe that this bike is really too nice to go off roading again and as a result the bike sits lower and the side stand on this bike works fine. I also installed a new optional center stand. Good running and riding condition. Clear California title in my name. Speedo reads 4996 miles but the speedo cable was broken at one stage so this is not the actual mileage. You are welcome to visit in Tarzana (San Fernando Valley part of Los Angeles).
