Vehicle Detail
You are looking at a gorgeous very low mileage (83K) white Buick Roadmaster wagon with almost all the options, including: Heated rear window and mirrors, rear wiper, factory Electronic Climate Control A/C (Ice Cold), 6-way Power Driver and Passenger Seats, Power windows, brakes and steering, power door locks with Keyless Entry, (2 remotes) Cruise Control, Tilt wheel, 2- Way Tailgate ( it opens down or sideways ), Full Leather Interior with 3rd rear seat (unused by the look of it), Heavy Duty Shocks and Springs and Trailer Pkg. (But no hitch has ever been installed). It also has an “Astro-Roof” which is a fixed clear glass panel over the rear passenger compartment with sunshades. The only option I am aware it does not have is the heated memory seats. The factory AM/FM Stereo cassette unit has been replaced with a combination AM/FM/Cassette/CD from a ’96 Roadmaster. Naturally it looks original, but I do not believe it was available on the ‘95s. The rear side doors, rear windows and tailgate are tinted with 80% film which was professionally installed and is in perfect condition. There are four Heavy Duty color coordinated after-market rubber floor mats that have protected the carpet very well. The car is complete with the original Owner’s manual. Power comes from the very desirable 5.7 Liter (350 C.I.) 260HP LT1 V-8 from the Corvette…..No wimpy 6 cylinders here!!! Response to the throttle is instant and strong but it’s still rated 17/25 city/hwy mpg. ( I have seen 23-24mpg mostly). Shifts thru the “bullet-proof” Turbo 400 Trans are smooth and sure. There’s nothing quite like a big V-8 with a 2.93 ratio Positrac rear end! The body and interior of this car are in excellent shape with no rust, not even the lower rear fenders behind the rear wheels! There are no tears in the gorgeous leather and no known issues. In fact the whole car is in remarkably good condition. The Driver’s door control panel and steering wheel do show very minor wear from use. There are some very minor dings in the woodgrain, moldings and bumpers. (it is 16 years old after all!) The body-side moldings are NOT falling off – some were loose and have been re-installed using 3M adhesive molding tape and are solid. I have tried to photograph all the deficiencies. The Factory Buick Aluminum wheels are in great shape with 2 brand new (less than 100 miiles) White-wall Hankook 235/75R15 Tires (warranty replacements); the other two have around 8000 miles on them and are like new. There is a very good full-sized spare on another aluminum rim. All gauges, lights, and almost (see notes* below) all electrical items work as designed by General Motors. Yes, even the self-leveling rear suspension, rear wiper, defogger and the power antenna! I added two supplemental fused 12V power outlets in the rear compartment for a cooler etc. Recent service includes Power steering fluid flush and rear axle oil change, spark plugs, air and fuel filters, rear shocks (air bladders were shot), fuel pump (it was dying slowly) and drive-shaft “U”-joints (preventive maintenance). Oil & filter changed approx 3000 miles ago. (I go by the GM Oil Life Indicator for changes which have been done at the local dealership). There are approx 5000 miles on new brakes (front rotors, pads, bearings and seals, rear drums, linings and shaft seals). Most of the nylon slides in the window regulators (you know, the ones that break and GM wants to sell you the whole regulator unit for $500!) have been replaced. This car spent most of its life in Florida, then two years in Michigan, but I did not go out in the salt unless I really had to, (I am retired) at which time the underbody was flushed immediately! There is NO significant rust on this car. (Just take a look at the underhood pictures!) Wagons in this condition and low mileage are very difficult to find. If you are looking for a very nice economical BIG wagon that is in great shape, extremely comfortable, reliable and FAST - YOU HAVE FOUND IT!!!!! 1995 was the last year but one for these big wagons and they are becoming harder to find in this condition. I would not hesitate to drive this car across the country, this one is about as good as they get. This is only my third car to be offered on Ebay, (all Roadmaster wagons) but check my feedback on other transactions for an indication of my integrity. Selling as I now have a pickup truck to pull a 5th wheel and no longer have a need for this vehicle.A reasonable reserve has been set midway between NADA trade-in and KBB Private party selling prices. Independent inspection prior to auction end is welcome. Send me a message with your email address if you need more photos of specific areas. (I have lots but Ebay limited me to 24!) * In the interests of full disclosure, here are the notable imperfections: - The cruise control switch rarely works in the resume/accel position. On/Off/Set/Coast are fine. A new switch lever would solve it. - Some heathen screwed a couple of screws through the tailgate chrome trim into the tailgate at some point. I assume it was falling off! At least no rust has resulted. - There is a small hole in the left side knee bolster where a small warning light had been installed by a previous owner. I removed it as it was not connected to anything. I have no idea what it was for. - The passenger outside mirror does not quite fully return to its housing after it is folded. Still works fine. Now, if the winner opts for the “Buy it Now” option, I will include:- - A full tank of fuel - A fresh oil change with the Oil Life Monitor reset. - A sixth factory aluminum rim with another low mileage Hankook tire on it. - The HID headlamp conversion (which I was planning on removing) - A brand new water pump that I planned to install as a preventive measure. I’ll include the new thermostat and two gallons of Prestone I was going to install with it. - A transmission filter kit I have not had time to install either! - Some extra window regulator nylon slides (in case more of them break!) - A somewhat rusty Class II (3500#) trailer hitch with a 1 ¾” ball from a previous wagon of mine. (a ’94) All of the items listed above are only included in the “Buy it Now” price and will be sold separately if the car sells through regular auction . A $500 deposit is required through PayPal within 3 days and the balance payable on collection in cash or verifiable cashier’s check within 10 days .I am located 30 miles North of Detroit but will be happy pick up a buyer at Detroit Metro Airport by mutual arrangement if necessary. On Jul-27-11 at 07:19:12 PDT, seller added the following information: I have received three questions so far, here are the answers:-1) The battery is 2 years old.2) The luggage roller cover is in place, along with the original cargo net.3) The roof rack has BOTH cross bars.On Jul-27-11 at 14:44:44 PDT, seller added the following information: In answer to another question:-Without actually spelling out my reserve, I will say it is a LOT less than the Buy-it-Now price. But approx $450 of "extras" are not included.
