You are looking at a metallic blue 1990 Ford Mustang Hatchback LX. It's equipped with a 5.0 H.O. engine and a Ford Racing Z spec manual transmission. The odometer currently reads 29,461, however, the dash was replaced a while ago and the chassis has about 176,000 miles on it. The fuel gauge always shows empty and the temp gauge is an actual temp gauge (as opposed to a n-o-r-m-a-l reading) and is mounted just below the dash. The engine in not the original. It was replaced with a used engine a few thousand miles ago and could use a rebuilt engine (it leaks oil from the rear seal). The car was painted about 5 years ago and has several scratches that have been touched up. The transmission has about 5,000 miles on it. There is a lot of room in the engine compartment... the battery has been relocated to the trunk, there's an AC delete pulley and a manual rack (ie. no AC or power steering). Getting the car smogged here in So CA might be an issue. The smog police here are a little tough. It passes the emissions test with flying colors, but doesn't currently pass the visual. They won't let it go with a two cat h-pipe (even though it's not polluting). Other than that, the car drives pretty well and is track ready. Now for the modifications: The front end has been lightened considerably. It has a D & D tubular k-member, tubular control arms, caster camber plates and coil over struts. There is a Flaming River manual rack and AC delete. The rear suspension is composed of a Maximum Motorsports heavy duty torque arm, panhard bar, rear lower control arms and full length subframe connectors. The diff is a 3.55 ratio and it's been rebuilt with extra disks. The brakes are a genuine Ford Racing 5 lug Cobra setup (the whole kit), 13" front rotors and 11.65" rear. The wheels are 17" x 9" 5 lug chrome Cobra R replicas riding on 245/45/ZR17's. The battery has been relocated to the trunk. The exhaust consists of stock headers with a MAC 2 1/2" cat h-pipe and 2 1/2" flow pipes into Dynomax mufflers. The exhaust ends at the mufflers. The hood is a fiberglass 3" cowl hood. In the engine compartment: a 2 core 1" thick aluminum radiator with an electric fan. The mass air is a 90 mm lightning calibrated for the 24 lb. injectors. There's an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, 155 lph fuel pump and a gauge pod on the cowl. The ignition is from Performance Distributors. It consists of a Screamin' Demon coil, Livewires, cap, rotor and a Dyna-module for the tfi. The alternator is a 130 amp unit and it has a hi-torque mini starter.
