1966 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu. Complete restoration finished april 2011. 396 BB 450hp. 10:1 forged pistons, roller cam, gear drive timing, Victor jr. hi-rise, Demon 750cfmcarb, ceramic coat headers, magnaflow stainless exhaust. Aluminum radiator, dual electric cooling fans. Mallory uni-lite ignition. billet distributor. Engine is a 1969 casting. Converted to long water pump. Power steering, power brakes, (front disc), TH400 transmission with shift kit. torque converter is stock. hi-torque mini starter. 12 bolt gm rear differential with 4:10 gears and positraction. Rear suspension air bags. Lower quarter panels and trunk floor replaced. package tray and rear deck panel replaced. Floorboards were solid. Body was very straight to begin with. No old accident damage. Minimal filler was used. Paint is Duplicolor paintshop two stage silver base with black tint and clear. Stripes are duplicolor white and mimic later Chevelle style. Paint job is excellent daily driver, but not show winner quality. Bumpers, rocker mouldings, wheel opening mouldings, eyebrow and grille mouldings are new aftermarket. All other trim is restored original. New Cragar SS mags with uni-lug pattern, rear are 15x8 front are 15x7. new BFG radial T/A tires. Bucket seats with console shift. Carpet, door panels, armrests, seat covers, glove box liner, package tray, and headliner are new aftermarket. All dash trim and knobs are new. New windshield, all other glass is original. Aftermarket kneeknocker tach and triple gauge set. Console clock works! Interior is painted to match exterior. I have driven car approx 600 miles since it was finished and have not had any problems. It was driven for three days over the Fourth of july in 90 degree temps. with no overheating problems, even during the parade! The car sounds mean and has lots of power. At 60 mph, engine is at 3200 rpm. Redline is 7000. Car was used in a Chevrolet HD truck photo shoot in june and will appear in the 2012 advertising.
