You are bidding on a 1964 Chevrolet Corvair Spyder Convertible. Optional equipment on this model: Am Radio, push button. This vehicle looks and runs very well. I purchased the vehicle in 2001. It was purchased from the previous owner in Idaho. Since the car came from a very dry part of the US, the lack of rust is evident and very unusual for a car of this vintage. There is no rust through and only minor under body surface oxidation. The car is extremely solid despite the convertible body. Gas her up, turn the key and head out for a day, weekend or cross country trip! All the work over the past 10 years has been done by professional mechanics and the car has always been garaged for the last 10 years. The top was replaced in 2001 and still in very good shape. The convertible mechanism was reworked in 2009. The interior seats and carpeting were totally replaced about 5 years ago. I have a folder full of receipts to document all the work and parts that have been replaced over the past 10 years. Other than the original AM radio, everything works on the vehicle however, the power top requires a helping hand when initially opening or closing. The original generator has been replaced with an alternator to improve reliability. The turbo system works and the engine runs smoothly with no oil burning. Like most Corvairs, there is a slight oil leak, but does not require adding oil between changes. Currently black wall tires on the car with less than 2000 miles. The white wall tires were replaced with larger black walls for ride and handling reasons. The white wall tires shown in the photos are included and have very little wear, less than 500 miles. Overall the car is fun to drive and reliable for even long trips. The car is driven gently and almost never seen a rain shower in the last 10 years. This is a very good condition, premium model Corvair. It's a great driver as is and has the potential to be a show winner for the right enthusiast. I am glad to answer questions about the vehicle.
