NO RESERVE AUCTION!DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU WANT TO OWN THIS CAR. HIGH BIDDER WILL OWN THIS CAR, REGARDLESS OF SELLING PRICE! THIS MUCH I KNOW IS TRUE! 1973 VW Super Beetle- I'm the third owner of this Bug. I purchased it for my daughter in Oregon about one year ago. The car is now in Massachusetts. My daughter just can't (doesn't want to) get the hang of operating a 4 speed transmission and wanted something with an automatic, so here it sits in my garage, unused and under appreciated. My wife says the house isn't big enough for both the car and me and one of us has to go. Although I know she would rather keep the car I thought I would try to sell the car before she locks me out of the house and make me sleep in the car. It was garaged since new and owned by non-smokers. It is in really great shape but don't kid yourself into thinking it's a new Cadillac Escalade. This is a 38 year old car and look, runs and drives outstanding for a car of this age. It actually runs, drives, looks and sounds like a Volkswagen should. It has been meticulously maintained for the life of the car and it has always been stored indoors as far as I can tell. It's not perfect, but it's REAL REAL nice. 1.) The driver's running board has some ripped rubber from the door skimming it. See PHOTO.2.) The rear fenders where the running board meets has some chipped paint from dirt kicking up I would guess. SEE PHOTO3.) Couple of tiny areas of chipped paint- too small to really see in a picture.4.) Interior headliner has couple of loose spots that one might want to be addressed.5.) Dash is original.6.) Odometer does not work.7.) Steering wheel has a crack.8.) Driver's seat does not always stay in place, really have to rock back and forth in seat to be sure locked in place. NEEDS OIL. I might do this if I can find some oil.9.) Passenger rear light works sporadically. Has new wiring, new bulbs, must be loose connection10.) Rear license plate light was not re-connected but wiring attached11.) Added a fuel sensor thing that goes in the tank, but think it's too big or something, depending on level, when you go around sharp turn, you occasionally get a gas smell. If the tank is full, no problem. Feel free to personally inspect the car, have an agent inspect the car or ask any questions. The time to ask questions is NOW. The time to see the car would be now. Once the auction ends, HIGHEST BIDDER OWNS THE CAR. Please DO NOT BID IF you think you are bidding on a NEW CAR. This is a classic, RUST FREE and SOLID, 1973 VOLKSWAGEN, Super Beetle. High bidder must pay an initial deposit of $1000 within 24 hours of the end of the auction. SELLER reserves the right to cancel sale for slow payment, unusual bidding practices or any retracted bidding.
