Vehicle Detail
Hello, up for auction is a 1997 Crown Victoria police package that was painted like a taxi for a movie in 2003. The car was originally a "Grey" Ohio State police car. It was later purchased by the second owner, then was sold to a movie production company located in Cleveland Ohio. The car was then painted "Taxi Yellow", striped with checkerboard stripes and a fictious "The Erie Taxi Company" logo on the doors. The taxi sign on the roof lights up. The meter was removed from the interior before the car was sold to me. Where the meter was mounted, there is a small hole in the dash pad. The movie it was used in was called "Bet Your Life", a Billy Zane film. Once the filming was over, I purchased the car in 2003 with 214,000 miles. I didn't drive the car much, although it ran excellent. It was also used in a couple local Pittsburgh area movies within the last few years. The car now has 232,000 miles. The body and chassis are in very good condition, with almost no rust. Minor rust is starting to form on the passenger front fender only, see picture. I have an extra rust free passenger fender that can go with the car if you would want it. There is no rust on the rest of the body. Very minor surface rust is on the under carriage. The paint is in presentable condition. With a good wax or buff job, it would look a lot better. The header panel, left front fender and left front door's paint are starting to fade. They were repainted at a later date. The car had very yellowed headlights. I replaced them with new ones. Headlights now are nice and bright. The blue interior is very clean and in excellent condition. Cloth bucket seats in the front, and vinyl back seat. No rips or tears at all. Car has a factory blue center armrest/storage compartment with rear seat area heater vents. The car has the factory rubber floors in good condition. The steering wheel is in great condition with no wear areas. Great working power windows (right rear window is not working but is firmly in the up position), power locks, working cruise, COLD A/C, power trunk, AM/FM stereo, new battery and new tires with under 2000 miles. Since the car hasn't been used since the state inspection ran out in 2010, now, the check engine light is flashing when running. I'm not sure what is wrong, but the engine has a misfire, I haven't had a chance to get it checked out. The car also needs a rear brake line that is running under the drivers side of car, it leaks. I wouldn't recommend driving the car with the bad brake line, as the pedal goes to the floor. The only other known issue is the blower motor for the interior heater and AC only works on the high speed. It needs to be replaced. This is about a $30 part. The only reason why I'm selling the car is, I have 3 cars parked here, where I really only have room for 2, so one needs to go. If you need any more specific pictures just ask. Any questions can be emailed or call 412-342-5999, please leave a message if I don't answer. Please ask any questions you might have. This is a no reserve auction, bid with confidence. A $300 down payment must be paid within 48 hours by the buyer through Paypal. The balance can be paid in cash in person. No checks will be accepted! Once the car sells, the buyer should make arrangements with me soon, to have the car picked up, the quicker the better. It should be picked up in a timely manner. Shipping of the car is entirely up to you to arrange. The car is located in the South Hills area of Pittsburgh, PA. Good luck and thanks for looking.
