PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING AND ASK YOUR QUESTIONS THAT YOU MAY HAVE!. If you would like further pics email me at rsboyd2008@hotmail.com This is my 1983 Goldwing aspencade that I have owned for little over one year. Due to being diagnosed with muscular dystrophy I am forced to sell the bike. The bike came form Florida so there is some sun fading of the paint. Most of which is found on the trunk and bag covers. and top of the tank.I do have a set of hwy pegs that are "goldwing" labeled and will go with the bike, they are in the trunk. The good the bike starts and runs. I have had it out for about 10 miles this past month but no further. ( series of short trips) It has not been altered in anyway or no aftermarket electrical accessories chop wired in to the bike causing undo nightmares. The air compressor for the suspension works and the shocks seem to hold air pressure. ( well they sure did over the winter) the bike has a new battery ( about 2 months ago from the local Napa store.) the master cylinder for the front brake was rebuilt last year. The fuel pump was replaced last summer ( due to external leaking) and the windshield was replaced last year as well. ( when I bought the bike they sent me a windshield for a 1988, and I am here to tell you it does not FIT!) as far as I know the bike has never been laid down. I did have it go over on me at a dead stop when my legs failed me. ( hence the reason I am selling it.) it has it’s share of chips and scratches for a twenty eight year old bike. But nothing all busted up. I do have the owners manual and tool kit for the bike and still has the original key. The factory am/fm stereo works but the sound quality sucks. And it is not overly fantastic on picking up stations. But it does seem to improve by holding the antenna. I would recomend a good going over before hitting the road. I do not expect much for problems ( other than what I listed) but because its lack of riding it just makes sense. The bad The license tab expired feb-11. I have the renewal card but did not get the tab. The tail light fuse blows the second you plug it in. I have not dug into it at all. I did speak to Evansville sports and based on the information I gave him he would lean towards the ignition switch. 1st because the gold wings were noted for it. And 2nd it brings me to my next point of the bike. You have to wiggle the switch to get the bike to power up. Now The bike does smoke some off the left bank of the engine ( out the exhaust) at start up but does clear up after a short running time. Seems worse when the bike sits for a long period and on the side stand. And I was told this is common by several wing owners I know who have or have had the same vintage bike. again what I was told. Take it for what it is worth Over the storage this past winter it developed a coolant leak. In the right side o-ring on the crossover pipe that goes between the left and right sides of the engine. This occurs the most at sitting. Or on cool down. I have added about an 6oz glass ( one of those Styrofoam coffee cups) worth of coolant sense it started leaking. The high/low switch for the headlamp is also touchy. Another switch you have to play with to get the lights working correctly. Also the rocker switches for the air ride are a little sticky. (lack of use?) but still operate. The ugly It is going to need a front tire soon. It Ain’t shot were you got cords hanging out of it but it Ain’t new either. When the bike sit’s for awhile the battery goes dead. Why? Don’t know. I do not have a tender on the bike. I did do a quick check for a major battery draw and did not see anything. ( yes I am aware the clock and radio memory draws some but that much?....... Nope) The left bank exhaust pipe. The chrome has some staining on it.Looks like it may have been caused by the old battery. Summary This bike is being offered as is were is and no warranty express or implied A $100.00 DEPOSIT REQUIRED 48 HOURS VIA PAY-PAL AFTER AUCTION END. WILL ACCEPT PAY-PAL, CASH ON PICKUP OR BANK CERTIFIED CHECK AS PAYMENT FOR THE BIKE. THIS IS A PICK UP ONLY. BUY RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING DELIVERY ARRANGEMENTS.
