Vehicle Detail
If you are looking at his bike, you know what you are looking for. This hurts to sell, as anyone who has owned one of these would attest to. I purchased the bike in 1995. It was part of an estate sale. When I went down to examine the bike, it sat next to an '81' that had only 300 miles on it. My eye was for the '79'. I couldn't go home with both. I enjoyed it, and gave it much love till the year 2000 when my marriage lead to other interests. I tucked it in the garage in southern California with a cover over it for 11 years. It had a full tank unless I needed lawn mower gas. I dreamed of getting her back on the road, however life happens. She's just as clean, and beautiful as the day we met. The paint is excellent. I put about 2,500 enjoyable miles on it since I bought it. Features include the factory sport kit, super trapps. (I would advise keeping these) They are a great pipe and in perfect condition with no dents or scratches. It did not come with the original pipes. I put koni shocks on it. It has the after market sport mirrors. I have the original mirrors NOS still in the bag. I had to return them 3 times to get perfect ones. The tail is from an '80'. Reason being is the '79' tails can crack, which I have the original tail peice in need of paint and crack repair. I had a helmet custom painted to match the bike (like the old days) which I will include. I have not started this bike. I know that I would rather leave it unmolested than attempt a crank of the motor after sitting for so long. I'm sure the carbs are gummed up. The brake line should be replaced, and the forks checked for proper seal. basically, it should be gone through, and the carbs should be taken off, and rebuilt. The metzelers that are on it have good tread however they have been sitting on the bike, and have minor cracks on the side wall. I do not know if it has ever been dropped while in motion. You can see minor asphalt rub on the left side casings where it looks like it fell over. The guages are slightly different in color but in great shape. The blinkers have slight age cracks (typical) but you have to get up on them to see. If I go through these things, I'll wind up keeping it, and riding it again. I'm letting this go as a non running bike in as is condition. If you wish to see more photos, I would be happy to send them to you. This has a reserve, so if and when it surpasses that mark remember, I am not starting the bike. Please feel free to ask questions. Good Luck.
