1948 Plymouth sedan restored as a Police Cruiser. Featured in the Fort Myers Police history book published in 2008. Restored from the frame up. Original six cylinder flathead engine rebuilt by previous owner (approximately 2,000 miles ago). New rear leaf springs, shocks, brakes, master cylinder, all wheel cylinders (six total), tires, clutch, starter, carburetor, rebuilt original radio. Original six-volt positive ground system. All gauges in working order. New spotlight. Siren and light in front works off six volt system. Top bubble light works off 12 volt battery located in trunk. Also has cd player with eight hours of police chatter located in trunk. Rear bumper re-chromed. Most stainless steel and chrome trim has been replaced. Antique police car radio located under dash (when cd is on it seems to be receiving calls – nice at car shows). Car completely re-wired incorporating fuse box (not something offered in 1948). Paint stripped to bare metal before painting. Any problems were addressed with new steel (no “bondo”). Interior re-done with new carpet, headliner, reupholstered seats and door panels. Speedometer reads 59583 but that was installed during the restoration so I can’t give a more accurate mileage other than to say that nothing described here has more than 2,000 miles on it. A consistent winner at parades and car shows. Selling because wife says I can only have one toy at a time and I’m looking at something new. Twenty thousand invested. Boxes of extra chrome and parts included.
