Vehicle Detail
I have this old gasser up for trade,it is a 1963 Mercury Comet gasser(supposed to be a survivor but I can't confirm it)that is an attention getter.Every cruise in that I take it to,it has a crowd around it the whole time I'm there. The motor is supposed to be a 347 stroker(can't confirm it but it will absolutely leave the earth). It has a Funnel Web intake, huge cam,Edelbrock carb,Hei distributor,1 wire altenator, fenderwell headers, small square race Flowmaster mufflers, and a 3 speed manual trans.Out back it has a 9" with aftermarket axles with long studs. The front wheels are real Fenton 3.5" small chevy and the rear ones are 10" but I am not sure of the brand. It has almost new M&H drag radials in the rear and almost new radial front tires also.It has been updated to a speedway front straight axle with disk brakes(it doesn't have any bumpsteer). It only has end links for shocks in the rear so you can imagine how it bounces over bumps,it was like this when I got it and it doesn't bother me but I will also include a set of air shocks with new lines with it.I think the front seats are 64-66 Mustang,it has an old well built roll bar in the back,a very old tach that works, the headlights, brake lights, and tail lights work. All of the glass is good and the windshield has a small crack. To the best of my knowledge the paint is original(besides the painted on letters ect.) exept for where the previous owner decided to do some touch up on the right quarter panel and hood.It has some old writing that says(Bad Example)on the side. This car will pull the front wheels with the slicks hot.I love it and always have wanted a gasser but I would rather have something that the kids could ride in also.I was going to remove the roll bar,but it has been there so long and I think it would reduce the value and originality of the car.I have been on many trips with no problems and it cruises at highway speeds and corners pretty well also. There is no rust in the floor pans that I can find, there is a small place(easy fix)in between the fuel cell and battery in the trunk, some on the right door(may need replaced) and some on the rear lower quarters on the inside.I have the hood but it has rust on inside and is only a pin on with a hole cut for the breather to stick out.I drive it almost everyday and will be very sad to see it go.As always I reserve the right to end the auction early for whatever reason and I want a 500 deposit within 24 hours of the auction end.The title is in my best friends name because I have too many in my name.I welcome and urge people to come and look before bidding.I can take pictures of whatever you want if needed.I will accept the remainder of payment in cash only. Thanks On Jun-27-11 at 18:54:27 PDT, seller added the following information: Update:Had a few quetions about the overall body,it has scratches, dents and dings here and there. It is 48 years old and hasn't been restored. What you see on the car is what you get.On the picture of the motor,it had a Holley and I traded it out with an Eldebrock. The car is sold as is where is,no warranties implied.I would drive this car anywhere! On Jun-28-11 at 07:07:59 PDT, seller added the following information: Update to more questions:The wipers work, the old helmet with the trophie inside goes with the car,it has an electric fuel pump in the trunk, and yes it scares little old ladies and children walking down the street as it goes by!
