Vehicle Detail
1935 PLYMOUTH FIVE WINDOW COUPE ALL ORIGINAL IN RUNNING CONDITION Excellent opportunity to purchase my 1935 coupe and finish it out the way you want it. This came off a farm in Colorado and is all original. Absolutly no bondo on this car at all. It has plenty or dents and dings and a few cracks but they can all be worked out with no worries about stripping off pounds of bondo just to get to the metal. The only rust through are the rocker panels and reproductions are available online. The floor in front is solid with a few pinholes andthe trunk area is excellent. One major bonus is that it is all steel with no wood in the doors! The original Flathead 6 cyclinder engine is stamped PJ and starts right up. Runs and shifts fine. Rebuilt master cyclinder and brakes work. Headlights will need to be rewired but other than that it is a running and driving vehicle. The cloth top was replaced with metal but the frame inside is all there if you want to go back to original. The spare tire mounted on the back belongs to my truck and is not included. I do have an extra Artillary rim I will put in the trunk.Speaking of the trunk I am also told it can be converted to a rumble seat coupe pretty easily. It is currently registered as an antique vehicle and I have just cruised around my little town with it and not driven it hard.If you want to drive it cross country it's your adventure. The previous owner told me that the pull down sunvisors, stainless trim on the hood sides, and the hood ornament were options that year. I would love to hear from an expert to confirm that for me. I have never seen the wave hood ornament only the ship one myself. That really throws people off as to identifying it as a Plymouth. I have attached a few pictures of restored and custom 1935 Plymouth coupes taken of the internet just to give you an idea of why this paticular year and Model is so popular to Rod or restore to original. Right now it is at the perfect point to go either way I hate to part with this but I need the space and funds for other projects. This is a rare little coupe and a good investment. Not the typical 36 Ford coupe that you see half a dozen of every show. I can't say I have never run across one myself at any of the car shows I have attended over the past 30 years or so. Any details or history you can fill me in on is appreciated. On Jun-28-11 at 13:40:13 PDT, seller added the following information: Thanks to Wayne the Plymouth doctor I have some updates to add to the description. This particular coupe was built in Detroit and is a Business Coupe with several Deluxe upgrades added.Turns out the hood ornament is a very rare piece and was an option that year. I prefer it over the highly ornate sailing ship one myself. The rocker panel replacements are available through Wayne and he would be able to set you up with most anything you need to restore it back to original if that is the route you decide to take.He is a member of the Plymouth club and an excellent resource.
