Vehicle Detail

1950 Chevrolet 3100 5-window, one-half ton pickup. I am selling this sharp little truck for a friend of mine who does not have computer access. This nice, mostly original pickup was restored and painted by the owner of a Lubbock, Texas body shop twenty years or so ago as a shop truck (although the man probably never hauled anything in the bed). The body, fenders, and bed rails are straight and rust-free as far as I can tell from an inspection. The current owner bought the truck 16 years ago and has kept it inside a building that houses his antique tractor collection. The paint is Porsche (guards) red. Although the paint is old and chipped in a few places from driving, it is still presentable. Engine is 1956 236 C.I. that starts easily and runs out good. Three on the tree 56 manual transmission has been overhauled and connects to a Pontiac "high speed" rear end (should get decent mileage). 8 volt battery, new wood in bed, new headliner and door panels. Original seat has been recovered but shows wear. New weather stripping around doors. New F-78 15 inch tires. Clear Texas title. Drive it as is or build it as the ultimate street machine. All the hard to find trim pieces are on the truck. Recently tuned up and carburetor, brakes, etc. checked and repaired as needed. Bid with confidence. Email questions answered promptly. Non refundable deposit must be paid through PayPal within 24 hours of auction's end. I will assist with shipping arrangements if requested or fly in and drive it home. On Jun-24-11 at 15:29:02 PDT, seller added the following information: Transmission is 56 Chevy open drive shaft. I drove the truck today. It shifts and steers easily--probably could use new spindle bolts. There was a some hesitation in the fuel flow that caused me to have to use the choke to keep it going. The truck needs to be driven more often, might have been some bad gas. Owner told me that he replaced the wood strips in the bed about a year ago. Engine has tube headers and dual exhausts. No current inspection because the owner changed from annual registration to antique that does not require inspection sticker. Five year antique license plate expired recently. Body is slick, no evidence of repair on any of the fender edges. Because the person who usually details cars that I am going to list on Ebay is way behind, we were not able to have the truck cleaned and detailed. The engine needs to be cleaned properly. Engine does not smoke and the owner assures me that there is no problem with the engine overheating. On Jun-26-11 at 14:32:33 PDT, seller added the following information: I JUST NOTICED AN ERROR IN THE LISTING. THE TRUCK IS LOCATED IN LUBBOCK, TEXAS 79423 NOT LAMESA.
