Vehicle Detail

Ok, 'story time'!!! I'm just the computer operator for this listing. This farm truck belongs to my pal. Sight unseen he bought a 'truck and car'. Duh....... So we took my Suburban and his flatbed trailer to get them. The car, now sold, was a 1950 Chevy, but the 'truck' was not a pickup truck as expected!!! It was this big ol Farm Truck!!! Yikes!!!!!! So we put the car on the trailer, and me, being a retired truck driver, was 'elected' to drive this beast about 80 miles back 'home'!! Great!!! Fortunately in ran like a champ! This engine is STRONG! It has a working PTO and lift box, and the sides can fold down for unloading your load from the sides. There is a 4 speed(plus reverse) trans, with a split rear end, with the 2 speed shifter on the dash. The clutch worked very good with no 'chatter' or grabbing, and the trans and 2 speed worked very well and smooth through all gears, even though I had not driven a truck for many years. Brakes also worked good. previous owner said it had been serviced recently and all the fluids were up in the cases. The windshield has the expected little pits here and there, but no cracks, and essentially in good condition for its' age. The wiper arms are in the glove box and need blades, and the wiper motor ran ok. It was a cool day, and the heat to the defrosters worked ok. Of the guages, the speedo didn't work, but the temp, oil and ammeter guages all seem to work ok with no overheating as I pulled several hills, and the engine trans seems to be geared for the heavy haulings, as I didn't seem to be going that fast on the road, but the engine didn't sag or lug down one bit and I didn't have to downshift for any of the hills, just gave more gas, and she kept on goin'. Good strong running engine. Tires are probly a bit 'iffy', as one of the inside rears tossed a chunk of tread during the 80 mile trip, but still the tire held air. There are a lot of these old veteran trucks still doing daily use on these farms, so it is not surprising to come across them. With the speedo not working, I don't have a clue as to the actual mileage, and just put in the 999999 because I had to fill in that blank form. The tiny town of Poplar is on Hiway 2 near the Northeast corner of Montana. Between Glasgow and Williston, N.D. Come get this one!!!!
