Under the hood is a valve in head 347 CI "Strato-Streak" V-8 Tri-power engine, which raised the output to 290 horsepower, versus the 1956’s 205hp. Engine is currently set-up with a single 2 barrel carburetor, but both the Tri-Power carb and the “sunburst” air cleaner are available for purchase at an additional cost. Recently serviced mechanically with newer belts and hoses, and the radiator is also in good condition with straight cooling fins and is ready for cruising. It is also equipped with the four-speed “Strato-Flight” Hydra-Matic transmission, supplied in combination with 10:1 compression heads. This classic Fisher bodied sedan which is designated a 4-door hardtop, clocks in at 206.8" long, 75.2" wide, with a 122” wheelbase. In 1957 the Silver Streaks along the side were eliminated, as Pontiac starting marketing to a “younger market”. Pontiac sported some other noticeable styling changes for 1957: a reworked grille beneath mildly "Frenched" headlights, new spear-like bodyside moldings that widened toward the rear, and tall, heavily chromed taillight housings (with oval lens) capping extremely modest tailfins. This automobile also has the “new stylish recessed parking lights located in the lower left and ends of the bumper” The interior of the automobile has been recently restored with new dark green pattern cloth with light green accent vinyl. Also replaced were the carpets and headliner. The original Pontiac push-button radio is installed. It has 55,424 one owner miles and is a great example of a survivor from a past era. The wheel covers are in great shape, as are the vintage whitewall tires. A spare is included. This is a great example of a classic 50’s automobile, and is a Pontiac enthusiast’s dream come true.
