Vehicle Detail

I am selling a 1996 GMC Sierra 3500 Heavy Duty HD standard cab truck cab with a hydraulic tilt dump truck. This is basically the same as the Chevy Silverado from 1996. This truck was used by a Michigan city for several years and has been well maintained. They recently replaced several vehicles in their fleet so I acquired this vehicle. The county was the original owner of the truck. It has 171,150 miles but runs great. The transmission shifts smoothly, it idles nicely. The dump truck tilts up and down using a 2-way switch. It has a radio that works, and heat/air. This would be a good truck for a landscaper, utility worker, or one of many other heavy duty jobs. It has a dually back axle so there are a total of 6 wheels on the truck. It is rear wheel drive so the four rear wheels drive the truck. Here are the main features of this truck Heavy Duty 3500 GMC Truck Fuel Injected 5.7L Vortec V8 Automatic Transmission with GM's heavy Duty 4L80E electronic overdrive transmission Dually with 4 wheels on the back axle Dump Truck bed with hydraulic switch to tilt up and down 1996 was the first year of OBD2, which is a plus for any vehicle Check engine light is NOT on, no codes are present I did a VIN lookup and generated a report of the equipment in this vehicle. According to the VIN, here is what it came with: UM7 - RADIO,AM/FM STEREO,ETR,INCLUDES CLOCK STEREO W/CLK(UM7) UQ5 - SPEAKER SYSTEM,4,DUAL FRONT DOOR MOUNTED,DUAL EXTENDED RANGE QUARTER MOUNTED 4 SPKR SYS(UQ5) YD6 - SPRING,REAR(BASE EQUIPMENT) RR SPRING(YD6) ZW9 - BASE BODY OR CHASSIS BASE BODY/CHAS(ZW9) 52I - INTERIOR TRIM LIGHT NEUTRAL (52I) 52V - TRIM COMBINATION VINYL, LT NEUTRAL (52V) 6XA - SPRING COMPTR SELECT FRT LH SUSP(6XA) 7XA - SPRING COMPTR SELECT FRT RH SUSP(7XA) 9W4 - LEAD FREE PAINT,TANGIER ORANGE (9W4) A52 - SEAT,FRONT BENCH,3-PASSENGER FRT BENCH ST(A52) C60 - AIR CONDITIONER,FRONT,MANUAL CONTROLS A/C MAN CONT(C60) C7E - GVW RATING(11000 LBS) 11000 LB GVWR(C7E) DG5 - MIRROR,O/S WIDE LOAD, LARGE, WEST COAST STYLE O/S WIDE LOAD "WEST COAST" MIR(DG5) FE9 - FEDERAL EMISSION CERTIFICATION FED EMIS(FE9) F44 - CHASSIS EQUIPMENT,HEAVY DUTY HVY DUTY CHAS(F44) GT5 - AXLE,REAR,4.10 RATIO 4.10R(GT5) JB8 - BRAKE SYSTEM,HYDRAULIC POWER DISC,DRUM HYD PWR DISC/DRUM BRK(JB8) KNP - COOLING SYSTEM,TRANSMISSION,HEAVY DUTY HVY DUTY TRANS CLG SYS(KNP) K60 - GENERATOR,100 AMPERE 100 AMP(K60) L31 - ENGINE,GAS,8 CYL,5.7L,CPI 5.7R(L31) MT1 - TRANSMISSION,AUTO,4-SPD,THM-R2(4L80-E) 4-SPD A/TRANS(MT1) NA4 - EMISSION SYSTEM,ABOVE 8500 LB GVW EMIS SYS(ABOVE 8500 LB GVW)(NA4) NQZ - TANK FUEL, AUX, RR MOUNTED, 18 GAL----DELETE NQZ) Now on to the imperfections: I have gone thru the truck and I am disclosing anything I could find that I felt would be unexpected. The truck has a little bit of rust, but very much and not nearly what you would expect for the age or the fact that it was used in Michigan. The paint is all a solid color, but you can see the shadow marks where the county decals were removed. There are also a fair number of chips in the paint. When I acquired the truck the AC did not have a charge, so I charged it with R134 and it cools great. I haven't checked the system for leaks but it has held the charge for the last 4 days. I can't make any guarantees about the AC keeping a charge. Tires are OK but I would imagine you would want to replace them in the next 20K miles depending on what climate and terrain you drive in Interior is a vinyl floor and sliding bench seat that have been well used. There are a lot of scuffs and dirt/grease stains on the floor/interior. No functional damage, but just a lot of signs of good use. I have a reserve set that is low, but if the reserve is not met I may still offer the truck to the highest bidder. You are welcome to come look at this truck prior to auction closing. If you are the winner, I can take it to an inspection site of your choice prior to pickup. I can also take more pictures on request. I haven't had the truck for very long but I am being completely honest about it's condition and will work with you if anything is not as stated. You can either fly here and drive this home, or I can drop it off within 50 miles at a terminal for vehicle shipment. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs. I drove it about 15 miles on the highway and it drove great. Most states will also require you to have a safety inspection prior to registration. I ask for a deposit within 2 days of purchase, you can use Paypal or some other type of certified payment. On Jun-08-11 at 19:52:57 PDT, seller added the following information: Please note, one eBAY member informed me that this does not look like a 3500 HD. It may be just a 3500 and not the HD variant, but I got the original description from a VIN decoder online that did say it was an HD model. I just want to disclose this info so I am completley transparent.
