Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 2000 BMW R1150 GS Motorcycle with 14,794 miles. I bought this motorcycle in 2003 and I'm the third owner. The bike has been garage kept and serviced by a local BMW dealership in Rochester NY. As the ridding season there is short, the bike does not have a lot of miles on it. The last time the bike was ridden was in the fall of 2008. We moved to a different state and the bike was left behind in storage. The idea was that I would ride it to the new home - that never happened. Now we have 3 children and the bike is out of site and mind. I've been told that its time for it to go to someone who can enjoy it more than me. Sniff. See below for details on features and what it needs. FEATURES: - Heated Handgrips - ABS brakes and override to turn them off. - Shaft Drive - BMW System Hard Saddle Bags (not shown) Keyed to Ignition. Two bags included, one for each side. - Corbin Heated Seat, rider and passenger sections with passenger backrest (backrest not shown) (seat has heater connection but is not wired to bike) - BMW padded tank bag with storage pockets - BMW tool kit under seat - Secret Start Switch - lets you start the bike if you should loose your key. Great feature if you ever get stuck and need to get home!! - TourTech Wind deflector WHAT IT NEEDS: - a good cleaning, I'm not charging extra for the cob webs. Bike is in a different state so I have not been able to wash it for this sale. - New battery needed ($199 from BMW dealer) - Bike has been sitting, I talked to service mechanic at dealership. The bike is fuel injected and a closed system so its not like the carburated systems on some bikes. He said it would only need a simple service and fresh fuel and it would be good to go. I was going to take it to get serviced before I sold it but mechanic is backed up until mid July. Bike has never been in an accident, never layed down while in motion. Bike has fallen over from the kick stand (its a heavy bike) and there are some scrapes on motor guards, handlebar ends. No other dents or breaks. No mechanical issues other than whats listed above. Bike is built like a tank and treated like a princess. With some soap and warm water this will look like a new bike. Bid with confidence Bike is for local pick up (or you arrange pick up) in Rochester NY 14617 Please contact me with questions. On Jun-13-11 at 12:19:42 PDT, seller added the following information: Answer to Question: I do NOT have the original seat. Just the Corbin. Corbin seat comes in two parts. Driver and Passenger. It has a removable backrest (not shown) that I believe fits in a slot on both the driver or passenger seats. You can remove the passenger seat and ride the bike that way as well. This allows for you to strap on more luggage and I've had a milk crate on there once as well - that doesn't look great but it sure brings the groceries home. Seat is heated but it has not been connected to the bikes power. Both seats have some wear but no rips or tears. In general seats are in good to very good condition. I did notice that the side wall of the passenger seat - on one side is showing some white fading. I'm not sure if some shoe / leather polish will bring back the color or it just needs to be cleaned. Sorry, I'm in a different state so I'm answering these as best I can. On Jun-17-11 at 05:55:17 PDT, seller added the following information: Added photo of Corbin backrest. Image from camera phone. On Jun-22-11 at 07:17:03 PDT, seller added the following information: Added two photos of the saddle bags. Dust is included in the sale. It appears that my brother, the photographer, can't wipe down the saddlebags before he photographs them. I guess I can't complain much about free help. Saddle bags have some scratches on them but are in good shape. I bought the bike with the stickers on the back of the saddlebags. It had more stickers that I had taken off. If you don't like these you should be able to take them off with some rubbing alcohol. Bags are keyed to the ignition. They also have straps on the inside of each section to hold your clothing in place, so when you open the bags - the items you have in the top half of the bag don't come spilling out onto the road. Bags are fairly roomy. One side is larger than the other due to the exhaust. The larger side (right as you sit on bike) was roomy enough to hold my helmet when parked. Bags are designed to be used as luggage as well. So you can take the bags off the bike and carry them into the hotel or campsite.
