Vehicle Detail
1946 CHEVROLET PICKUP TRUCK, HALF TON, MODEL CK The CK model, also known as the “Interim Series” was produced from September 1, 1945 through May 1, 1946 under the control of the War Production Board only for essential users. Bright metal trim was limited, hence the painted (turret gray) grill. This truck was built in the Kansas City Chevrolet Plant in May, 1946. Engine: Standard Thriftmaster, 216 CID, 90 HP @ 3300 RPM Transmission: Standard three speed Tires: Standard. 6:00 – 16 Paint Color: Option 234A Swifts Red, Mayland Black Factory Options as listed in Chevrolet Accessories for 1946, Grill Guard (part no. 985686), Cigar Lighter (part no. 986050), Spare Tire Lock (part no. 985725) This truck was fully restored from the ground up in 1997. The objective was authenticity and quality. Since then, it has been driven less than 2000 miles. It has enjoyed the life of a “trailer queen”. It has consistently won best in class at the most prestigious judged Concourse D’Elegance in Northern California (Silverado, Hillsborough, Palo Alto, etc.) as well as AACA Senior and Preservation and others. No detail has been overlooked. Note in the photos such items as polarity reversing switch on the starter, splash pans, spare tire lock, correct hose clamps, wiring and more, right down to the valve stem caps. The jack, all tools and manuals are included. It has been the subject of numerous articles in national periodicals and the “Chevrolet Art Deco Series” web site, http://www.haist-usa.com/artdecotrucks/index.htm Auction includes also, lined cover. Truck runs as good as it looks. This has been my pride and joy for many years, but I must thin out my collection.
