Vehicle Detail

This car has been owned by the same man since 1965 (46 years). He recently sold it to me as he is getting older and is not in the position to work on this car. The car has 44,576 original miles. The engine has been rebuilt with the oversized pistons/cylinders (original pistons/cylinders included) and is out of the car. All numbers match and this is probably the best candidate for restoration you will find anywhere. Therefore, if buyer makes shipping arrangements (and pays for cost), I will assist in shipping worldwide. There are many extras and as time permits I will try to list everything. There are five, (5) brand new Pirelli P3 tires that go with the car. There is another door (yellow in photo) that is the correct door and latch for the car. The driver's side door does not close properly. There was a donor car involved - a 1959 'A' and that is where the door, extra wheel and interior package (extra seats, covers, etc.)came from as well as bumpers. There is a hole in the glove compartment - this is for a clock, which was available in 1956. To my knowledge, this is the only thing that is missing. The body is very solid, but there are a couple of mild dents on the passenger side front fender - these should pull out easily. There is surface rust as you might expect and I will be in the position in the coming week to email photos of these areas. The engine compartment metal is all straight as you can see from the photos. At the time that I'm listing this, I'm only including photos of the boxes that describe what is included. I will post more photos, but will not be able to do so until June 15th (we are going out of town for a few days), but there are many new rubber parts, new headliner, driver's side mirror. A gasoline heater is also in one of the boxes, and a new muffler (in the photo of the front trunk area). I will be out of town, but will have limited access to email and will try to respond to emailed questions daily. For those who are truly serious, I will give my phone number so that we can be more productive in this process. A 1956 'A' went last December for $27K and that was a rusting heap. This is a very solid car and the body work will not be as extensive with the exception of probably replacing the floor pans. Also, this car has a rebuilt engine and many extra, new parts, tires, etc. Therfore I am setting a reserve on this auction accordingly. The car is in Lake Mills, Wisconsin (near Madison) and when I return (June 15th) I will be glad to show it to any interested and serious bidders. I encourage anyone who is interested to come out and see the car. It has been waiting for the right person to finish it for 46 years! If you're reading this, you know how scarce these are becoming and certainly know the value of these cars when they're restored. I would like a $1,000 non-refundable down payment at end of auction and the balance to be paid in cash at the time the car is picked up. For security purposes, we can conduct this business at my local bank. If the car is being shipped, payment in full must be made within one week (7 days) of auction closing. Payment in this case must be made by wire transfer directly to my account. Specific details can be discussed at such a time. Thank you, David This auction is in U.S. dollars. Thank you!On Jun-15-11 at 14:08:03 PDT, seller added the following information:6.15.11 I'm switching out some of the photos as I've opened a few of the boxes. It appears that every rubber part imaginable is in these boxes (new). If you blow up the photo of the packing slip, you'll see just what's there. I'm also posting a photo of the five (5) Pirelli P3 tires and a photo of the engine number. We're moving the car from its home of 46 years to my home tomorrow and then I'll have photos of the underside that I can email upon request. I have the title in my name now, however, there is a minor issue which means it could take a week or two to clear the title to the new owner - not a big issue, but I don't want anyone to be surprised. I am available from now through end of auction to show the car to anyone who wants to stop out and look at it. I can put it up on jack stands so that it can be inspected thoroughly. Also, several people have emailed asking if they can buy the car outright and sorry, but no. The reserve has been met and now the car goes to the high bidder. Thanks for your interest. On Jun-15-11 at 14:15:39 PDT, seller added the following information:Not able to change out photos. Please email me with your email address and I will send photos of the engine number (P*60827*) tires, rubber parts, rubber parts list, etc. THANK YOUOn Jun-16-11 at 10:29:51 PDT, seller added the following information: http://s1133.photobucket.com/albums/m582/Cell245/#!cpZZ4QQtppZZ24 GO TO THIS LINK TO SEE ALL PHOTOSOn Jun-18-11 at 11:54:13 PDT, seller added the following information:Saturday June 18th. Here is the link again to photobucket. http://s1133.photobucket.com/upload/albums/Cell245/ I have added pictures of the underside. There are some holes and the photos clearly show that this was a car from the Midwest. This is why the previous owner said that new floorpans would need to be installed. I have seen worse, but for a proper restoration, the underside is probably going to be the most challenging of anything - not impossible by any stretch, but challenging. Thank you,
