This auction is for a 1970 Opel GT, a great example of a private party carried around GT not all damaged and rusted even has a good battery tray and belly pan, imagine that, this is a Southern Calif car it's whole life with original blue Calif plates, as well as an original old style pink slip, original Calif title, this car can be easily shipped all over the world, no problem, we've done this many times before, our contact number is 909-355-OPEL, this car has the big 1900 engine, with the factory finned aluminum valve cover, it's so original all the way down to the carburetor and air cleaner the entire body seems solid, superficial dings and dents only, there are a couple 1 inch spots or so typical rust places, back bottom corners and such and the main one I remember was a quarter size rust spot on one of the front fenders, the worst spot on the car is the passenger that looked prior damaged, the passenger door is bad for a Calif car, another passenger door will be included with the winning bid. We took pictures of the entire floor with rockers to the front, here is a picture of the rear jacking point as well. Haven't had a chance to start it yet, when Monday comes around this week, we'll get back on checking that out for you as well.On Jun-16-11 at 01:35:16 PDT, seller added the following information: Hi guys, we've had a really busy shipping week, hundreds of parts had to go out to everyone, we got a small pocket of time today to start the car, we dropped a battery in, the engine turned over smoothly and quietly, we pulled the plugs, we did a compression check with my picky Snap-On gauge, WD'd the cylinder walls, with a slow battery it ran anywhere from 60/70 up to 100, it was steady and consistent. It's an early motor and for sure needs a valve adjustment to bring the numbers up. Head gaskets and hard parts seem secure, it does want to run, there was no ignition coil present, not sure how to turn on the electric fuel pump, probably a switch somewhere, otherwise car was finished, packed into rear lineup ready for sale, all tires are holding still holding air, overall condition, complete.
