***NO RESERVE***NO RESERVE***NO RESERVE*** As far as benchmarking the performance, I have 3 personal anecdotes. The first was a rolling start (5 mph) drag race against a 2003 911 Turbo. The 911, due to its all wheel drive, seemed to launch a little harder while rolling, but the Mustang was able to quickly overcome and was surprisingly faster, up to a little over 120 mph. I imagine at some point the Porsche would overtake in top speed. The second was a completely unofficial ½ mile race against a Viper GTS coupe. Advantage: Ford by quite a few car lengths. Finally, was a top speed challenge against a buddy with a Triumph Speed Triple. He was laid out on the tank doing an indicated 163 mph flat out. I went by him quit handily in 5th gear still accelerating pretty hard when I backed off.All three of these events took place on a closed course runway. Although I am pleased with the motor, I think the most unique thing about the car is the handling. The combination of the rack and pinion, coil-over conversion, the shock tower braces, and the sub frame connectors from Total Control, completely transforms the muscle car driving experience. I can’t recommend their products highly enough. In addition, the 4 wheel disc brakes from Baer Racing increases the margin of safety significantly. I chose this brake system after talking with some vintage 911 race car owners who seemed to favor them. Mechanically, the car needs nothing. There are less than 3,700 miles since its complete rebuilding. You literally could confidently hop in and drive to Key West. The interior is also very nice. There are no rips or tears or discoloration. The dash pad is excellent as well as the headliner. The rear parcel shelf carpet could use to be replaced. Although the body is very straight and the undercarriage is solid and rust free ,there is no evidence of any sort of previous collision, it would benefit from a repaint. The paint job itself was very nice and is at least 12 years old; however, there are some bonding issues where the paint has lifted off from the metal. My guess is it required more effort in the body preparation prior to paint. It is most noticeable on the roof and the typical Mustang problem spot along the gutters as well as the top of the rear drivers side fender. The gutters themselves are not soft and the window frame is solid. There is no evidence of any sort of previous collision. The car has been located in the high desert of central Oregon. In addition , the carbon fiber hood will need some work if it is to remain on the car. It is both a little rough and is delaminating along the drivers side. Probably could get by with a bead of epoxy and using a few spring clamps to glue it back together. The main benefit of course is the super low weight about 12# pounds instead of over 100# for the steel hood. Finally , as you can see from the photo's the passenger side scoop will need to be replaced . In the end, after originally spending $15,000 for the car, I added an additional $30,000 in parts and a little over $7,500 in labor. I have kept most of the receipts and documentation for everything that was done to the car and will be transferred to the next owner. In total I have invested over $50,000 in this car.I think you would be hard-pressed to find a car that is as fast or handles as well. As you are probably well aware of it is much easier to buy a car all ready put together then go through the expense of duplicating it on your own. Feel free to email me with any questions and thank you for looking. Below is a list of the major things done to the car, and although not exhaustive, it gives a pretty good indication of where and how the money was spent. If you ever have built a car, you know that there are myriad small details and expenses that become too numerous list.
