DE JE VU ALL OVER AGAIN! If you ever experienced a nearly new 356 C Porsche, you may regain that opportunity with this car! It can restore your youth, enthusiasm, vigor, reinforce your love life and joyeux de vie. 1965 all over again. The sounds and smells of a REAL Porsche. It is extremely rare to find such an unmolested Porsche coupe with approximately 43,000 miles since new. Up for auction is a Porsche 356C coupe, chassis number 220590, originally imported into the United States by Brumos Porsche, purchased by me in March 1974! The Porsche Authenticity Certificate states that this car was delivered on November 4, 1964 in Bali Blue with leatherette black interior, driver’s side outside mirror, noise suppression and the deluxe steering wheel chromed horn ring; not mentioned in the Certificate is that his car was originally fitted with tinted glass. The original engine and transmission are still installed, to my knowledge has never been removed--a true numbers matching condition. In 1976 the car was repainted in GM light yellow because the Bali Blue paint had deteriorated and was damaged by a Colorado sandstorm. The windshield was replaced. These two changes are the only ones of note that have occurred since the car was built. Very recently when the car was brought out of a 30 year storage. I installed the 912 alloy wheels and Michelin tires which are shown in the photographs. I will reduce the selling price by $800. if the alloy wheels and tires are not desired. The original, dated, steel wheels and flat disc hubcaps with Porsche crest are included. The overall condition of the car is very good. It runs, drives and stops as it should. The suspension alignment is near perfect. The body gaps are as the factory left them-good to excellent. The acrylic enamel paint is perhaps 15 foot or better (meaning that when viewed from 15 feet all the minor imperfections are not noticed). Underneath, the longitudinals, front and rear fender closures, the rear torsion bar structure, and the remaining understructure are in remarkably good condition with only surface rust. However, there is the usual rust perforation under the battery box and in both the driver and passenger footwells. The original black interior is supplemented by NOS black and gold coco fiber mats. The original carpet shows a little fade. The seats and the trim are original and the driver seat has some splits and the passenger seat is in good shape, as are the rear seats. The rubber seals and trim are in reasonable condition. The original radio is still installed and plays. The dash face was repainted black. The front compartment has the original plastic liner, jack, 6 volt Optima battery, and original data plate but no tool kit. When the car was re-painted, the hood seal was removed and not replaced. The hood lift ratchets were disabled so that the hood would not be kinked by some inept assistance. NOTICE: I am closing my dealership and have a colossal trove of 356 engine, suspension, brakes, trim, interior and miscellaneous new old stock parts, including 3 NOS Speedster windshields. These parts may be sold individually or as a single lot, depending on your needs. Please inquire. This Porsche is sold in its “present condition” with no warranty for its suitability for any purpose whatsoever. Shipping will be the purchaser’s responsibility and cost.
