Vehicle Detail
1986 Toyota 4runner Sr5 4X4 22re 5 Speed *FULLY OPTIONED* This is by far one of the nicest, cleanest, and well maintained low mile 4runner's you will hope to find. Yes, you've heard that statement a time or two before, but I'm fairly confident that you'd agree with me if you were standing in front of this one. All maintenance, and service up to date, not even an oil change will be needed, just hop in, turn the key, and away you go without any concerns at all. I'll start in the front and work my way through the vehicle from bumper to bumper. 22re with 5 speed gearbox Brand new Toyota factory steel radiator. All new timing chain and relative components, upgraded steel guide, and chain tensioner, new timing chain cover, water pump and all relative seals. New alternator, all new belts, hoses, and top of the line Interstate battery. New Doug Thorley ceramic coat Calif. State Smog legal header, for those of you in my state. NEW mild Performance cylinder head from Engine Builders.com of Oregon,(highly regarded in the Toyota enthusiast circle) New RV cam, with all new valving, and spring assembly. (enginebuilder.com) New Bilstein shocks, new rear leveling leafs, and front end alignment, new ceramic front brake pads, and New master Cylinder, synthetic fluids used. Also included is a very rare, and hard to find Downey Cold Air intake system, now that the company had ceased to exist, there are few, if any making these systems for this model. I have the original components that will accompany the sale. All cases drained, flushed and synthetic fluids installed. New rear pinion seal, I didn't like the slight seepage I noticed. Clutch, Transfer case, and Transmission are all XLNT working order, and the shifting is smooth, quiet, and positive, no mystery linkage here. Now to the basics: Body, Paint, and interior are all in GREAT condition, as are all other interior components, I have both rear seat headrests and they are in XLNT cond. Reflections of light are what appear in pictures as it is a very sunny day and it was either these which depict the shine of the paint, or taking them in the shade where they turned out very dark, You will not be disappointed! I'd have to say the one weak point is where your arm lays on the window sill, it is slightly faded, but still shiny, A/C radio, signals, lighting, gauges, and the list goes on, Everything works as it should, even has the Inclinometer Gauge Pkg in working order. Power windows, door locks, Cruise,Tilt, SunRoof and power antennae, all function as they should. Tires are New, Yokohama Geolander At's 31/10.50/15 Rims are in XLNT condition, no clearcoat peeling, or fading. The miles on the clock are 160,000 which equates to about 6,000 per year. The truck was bought locally new in Seaside at Victory Toyota and has lived in the area all it's life with the exception of less than a year in Colorado. It runs strong, I'd say better than the 3.0 six cylinder, still getting 20 mpg around town, and high 20's on the road, I will definitely miss that since I only fill it up about every two and a half weeks. You can be confident in driving this vehicle anywhere you want without hesitation and it will not let you down. The ride is smooth, quite, and it handles very nicely. The suspension is rock solid, tight, and no modifications have been made other than Great Shocks, and tapered rear leveling springs to make it sit right, since the rear leafs were 26 years old, I wanted it to sit Proud! Not a noise, rattle, squeak or vibration in my truck. This vehicle is by no means an embarrassment to you anywhere you show up, it is a wonderful example of the first generation 4runner. It is in amazingly nice condition for a 26 Y O Truck. I'll say it again, you will be extremely hard pressed to find a better one that is in such great condition in all areas, mechanically, and cosmetically. There is a small chip directly in the center of the windshield that has been there for over a decade, I had it repaired instead of replacing the window with an aftermarket glass, it is still the original Toyota windshield. It comes with the Original owners manual, Jack, tool kit, accessory corded trouble light, (Sr5 pkg) and Dealer installed C/B which I have, but it is in a box right now, I just never use it, comes with magnetic antennae so no holes drilled in body. I am an adult male, in my 60's so you know I am not abusive to my vehicle in any way . I hope I have addressed all of your questions, if not, feel free to ask. I am only selling it because I need a truck in order that I can return back to work because of the economy, otherwise I'd keep it for a long time because it serves every other need I have, and I feel I have replaced every single item that it could possibly have needed to make it 100% reliable, and a bit more powerful without compromising it's integrity one iota. Oh, and by the way, YES, I am buying another TOYOTA! This is my one and only vehicle, my daily driver, and is as reliable as they get. Without hesitation, I drive this anywhere, and everywhere and I always arrive without a hitch. So please bid with confidence, this is definitely not going to be a money pit, or a roadside casualty, all the work has been done and I'd say this vehicle is nowhere even near it's half life at this point. There have been no unnecessary modifications done other than what was deemed necessary to make it a more practical, and more road worthy vehicle, ZERO QUIRKS! I'm sure who ever gets it will feel exactly the same way as I do, Proud of my rig. Both items that show up on vehicle report in Oregon were when the 4runner went on vacation, and both incidences were other vehicles, not 4wd that couldn't stop at intersections and hit the front left fender which was repaired each time by a professional body shop with factory parts, no impact to any structural member occurred. Sorry for being so long winded but I think it should eliminate questions that all serious buyers will want to know. My 4runner is also for sale locally so I am choosing the right to terminate my auction early if it sells before auctions end. If there may have been something I forgot to mention, or you would like to ask, you can reach me at : 831-239-0625 Please do not call after 9:00 P M this is Pacific Time, Thanks The EndOn May-30-11 at 07:52:35 PDT, seller added the following information: After having several conversations with potential bidders about costs, today's economy, and other factors that influence their thinking about purchase, I have decided that I will try and offset that portion of their concern. Since the economy is influencing my decision to sell my 4runner, I totally understand others concerns. I will pay $300 of anyone's shipping expense, if they live outside of California and pay a transport company to pick up and deliver the 4runner to their state. I know that cost always plays a part in making any purchase and today more than ever for most of us. I hope that this may be a benefit in making your decision if you are at a distance.
