Vehicle Detail
The Auction is for a 72 cutlass supreme, I have invested approximately 22,000 dollars in parts and labor in this car over the last few years, the car was very solid and clean to begin with so I felt it deserved some restoration effort and now it’s awesome but I need to sell it to make room for another project. The interior is black, with a pretty clean original dash, a split bench seat with flip down arm rest, door panels were replaced with PUI (and have the typical minor wrinkles in the wood grain as PUI is known for), a sport wheel, new stereo, speakers, and new set of floor mats were added to a pretty nice original interior ( seats, carpet, headliner, arm rests etc are in good condition with minor wear and tear due to being original and nearly 40 years old. Stereo has IPOD or MP# player jack, SD card port, and flash drive/usb port so its easy to have hundreds or even thousands of songs all stored in the stereo. The engine was rebuilt a few years ago at considerable expense, and the heads were just done, aluminum intake, Holly carb, and newer headers and dual exhaust that sounds great, 3 speed tran’s works great and the car has a Posi rear and launches well. The car has American racing rims with 60’s on the front and 50’s on the rear which makes for excellent handling and great looks. Car is equipped with Disk Brakes and stops very well. The millage reads only 69K miles the car its easy to understand why the car was so solid but it needed paint and over the last couple years I found some used NOS front fenders and a 442 hood so we had some top quality bodywork done and beautiful metallic green Base coat clear coat paint done. The vinyl top looks good and during the body work we verified there were no problems around the front and rear windows or under the edge of the top so buyer can rest assured they are not going to find the usual problems under the top or around the windows. Windows have a light professional tint and a brand new windshield with antenna. As you can see in the pictures the car looks great and strait but to complete the detailing after putting all the money into the paint job we had to invest in new chrome and stainless. In fact over the last few years almost all the chrome was replaced and we added new grills and many of the various bolt on trim and emblem part from Fusick automotive or NOS where I could find it. We also had the wiring completely checked so all the lights are working as they should. All headlights were replaced with Wagner Halogens’ as part of the restoration of the radiator support and front grill area. To show everyone how solid and original the car is I left the original trunk paint below the new matt in the trunk. The trunk floor and quarters look great, frame is solid and under carriage is very presentable with newer dual exhaust standing out and providing a nice sound as the car goes through the gears. The frame, floors and suspension are mostly painted black and is still presentable, the floor was also checked for rust and is very solid and original. Car is not totally stock but if pure stock is your thing the car can easily be converted back to stock but if that’s your plan please ask questions before bidding so there are no misunderstandings. Misc info, rebuilt 350 engine with correct 7a heads, nicely detailed with Aluminum intake, headers, and Holly 650, Original Air conditioning can be restored and used but is not currently working, If winning bidder prefers I will substitute stock factory rally wheels for the American racing wheels and tires. The car is a great well maintained driver with an awesome paint job and I am selling at less than half what I have invested so it’s a great opportunity for someone to get a “turn-key” show shine or drive hot rod just in time for summer The car is well optioned with 442 hood, Posi-traction rear, power disc brakes, dual mirrors, 4 spoke factory sport wheel, halegen headlights, interior light package, New front window, Tinted Glass, buyers choice of mags or SS2 factory rims, AM/FM Stereo with IPOD jack and SD card, also has Power Windows. The car is driven and will be sold with raised white letter radial tires Again The car has a very nice body, clean underneath and a solid frame. Car handles and brakes great with very tight steering and suspension. The car is currently garage kept and enjoyed summers and based on the cleanliness of the undercarriage and overall condition of the car I believe the previous owners treated it in the same manner. If the new owner would like any minor issues addressed to bring the car to a higher level of restoration I can arrange for that work at a reasonable additional cost for the winning bidder but the car is sold as is. Pick up and shipping are the responsibility of the winning bidder but I will work with the winner to coordinate and if agreed upon before end of auction can help with local transport as the car can be driven and I also own a trailer. Also the car is sold with state of CT transfer of ownership (registration) and if requested by the buyer a Q1 CT state bill of sale. Please ask any questions or discuss special arrangements with me before the end of auction to avoid problems. No financially challenged bidders please. I encourage serious bidders to view the car in person but understand that is not always possible so I will try to help answer any questions bidders might have. The car has pretty Low millage 69k on the odometer and based on the condition I beleive its original but I cannot guarentee that, its the milage I will list on the transfer documents but I can’t guarantee that so the car is Sold where is as is with no warranty expressed or implied. Again I encourage all serious buyers to inspect and drive the car. You can see by the feedback that I am a very honest E-Bayer so call with questions and maybe you can drive this classic home soon at about half of what you would pay to restore or buy at auction a similarly equipped car. Feel free to ask me about everything that has been done to the car, Thanks and happy bidding, John @ 203-631-0184 Again, As we all know the car is nearly 40 years old and must be sold as is where is with no warrenty expressed or implied but I expect good feedback for both of us, as you can see from my feedback I am straightforward and honest, so please ask questions up front and feel free to come see the car in person if possible, That way you can bid with confidence on this great car Thanks again John 203-631-0184
