1985 Land Rover Defender 110 Turbo Diesel For sale is a 1985 British Land Rover Defender 110. Equipped with original Right-Hand Drive. 200-tdi turbo diesel engine. 5-speed manual transmission. ebay has trouble recognizing British VIN's and my insurance company had trouble at first too, but title is clear and all original import paperwork is valid. Listed as a 1980 because of ebay's issues, but she is an 85. Like most older vehicles this one has it's flaws, but the body is straight and clean with some signs of rust where you would expect to see it - the base of some doors, etc... Odometer reads 75,308 miles. Interior is in good shape with two captain's chairs up front, a three part folding bench seat behind the drivers seats and solid bench seats in the way back. Still has the original brown carpet interior that is worn in spots but in good shape all around. Original owners manual included. I bought this classic in the spring of 2010 and drove it regularly until a month or so ago when the radiator developed a big hole and the head gasket went at the same time. The estimate I got for repairs was around $2,500 though I honestly don't know if this is high or not. Vehicle starts and runs great, but obviously needs repairs that I can no longer afford. My loss is your gain. I've done lots of routine maintenance - i.e. oil change, filter changes, servicing the transmission, brakes, servicing the heater, front end alignment, installing a block heater, and generally checking everything out. ANYONE WHO HAS PLACED A BID THINKING IT WAS A TURBO AND WHO NOW WISHES TO CANCEL THEIR BID NEED ONLY TO EMAIL ME AND I WILL FIX IT.On May-31-11 at 14:07:09 PDT, seller added the following information: In the interests of full disclosure I believe it is only proper that I relate to potential bidders what a local buyer who came out to look at my Rover told me this morning. He took a look at the underside of the chassis and told me he believed there was quite a bit of rust on the frame, much of it covered by a thick layer of undercoating that the previous owner must have applied. I am not an automotive expert and I am unable to either confirm or deny if this person made an accurate assessment or not. There are obvious rust signs on the frame that I tried my best to disclose by including the attached photos. It is possible that his comments were meant as a bargaining tool to lower my price, I don't know. As someone who believes in good karma, however, I think it's only right to post this revision.
