Vehicle Detail
Description Here is a rare opportunity to purchase a beautifully done Classic 911 RS Clone equipped with a newly completely rebuilt 1973 2.4 S MFI motor. This 911 started life as a “normal” non-sunroof 1973 ½ T model with CIS and factory A/C. Sometimes during its quiet life in Texas, an oil cooler was added. It was also converted to wide rear fenders, which were properly “butt“ welded. We have put quite a bit of work in this car to make it what it is now. We started by removing the running original engine and installed a 2.4 S MFI motor. This engine had just been rebuilt and completely gone through top to bottom. Now that we had the power-train to match the look, we decided to continue the 2.7 RS look by: - Changing all the carpets for RS carpets + correct rubber mats - Replace door panels - Installing correct 7 & 8 x 15 Fuchs wheels (with new tires) - Replacing exterior lights with Euro lenses all around - Adding all specific 2.7 RS stickers and insignia - Installing rear RS bumpers and bumperettes - Removing the A/C vents and A/C system The car does not have any apparent rust. The jack points are in perfect condition and seem original. The floorboards are also rust-free originals (we have photos once the original carpet was removed). The battery trays appear solid and were painted to match the car's color. Finally, there are no traces of prior accidents or accident repairs (the alignments and gaps are excellent). In addition, we treated all sensitive areas of the car with POR 15 so it will never rust. It seems the original color of the car was yellow, confirmed by the door tag. The seats are in nice condition and the dashboard has obviously been repaired since it is finished with a really nice and classy stitch. All electrical equipment function as they should including the gages (except for the clock). The clutch is easy to operate and there are no syncros issues wit the original 915 gearbox. The gear selector has a short shift kit, which in my opinion does not do anything for a better shifting… The car runs very strong and the engine is surprisingly torquey. The accelerations are very linear from low RPM all the way up the rev with that push after 3,700 typical of a 2.4 S engine. The sound upon accelerating is just amazing. Watch the short video with the Youtube link after the engine number below and raise the sound !!! We have many more detailed photos of all aspects of the car available upon request including the floorboards (after we took the old carpet out showing the factory floors) as well as more videos and a video of the engine on the bench.. Just ask us for the link. This beautiful Classic 911 is the perfect representation of what a Porsche is supposed to be… The metallic sound of the engine, the agility, the handling, the driving involvement, the lightness of the car; all this brings you back to a time when Porsches were the ultimate sports cars. This 2.7 RS Classic Replica is ready to be driven immediately. Just turn the key and go.
