Vehicle Detail
I am selling 2 seperate 1965 Impalas in this single auction. I am doing so since they are both project vehicles with NO MOTORS OR TRANSMISSIONS included and parts from one can be used to repair the other one. The vehicle listed in the title is a true SS 396 car. The second car being sold is a 327 car having a VIN of: 164375S238197. Both cars don't have titles but can be obtained. They will be sold on a bill of sale from me. These cars have sat for over 20 years at their present location in dry and sunny western Colorado. The SS 396 car (gold in color) was damaged in an accident on the right hand fender and windshield pillar area. The 327 car (red in color) was purchased to repair the SS 396 car. That was the plan over 20 years ago but it never happened, obviously. The previous owner started swapping parts back and forth between the two cars and I have done my best to reverse all that he did. The only thing not back to the way it was originally is the 12 bolt rear end assembly from the SS 396 car is still under the 327 car. The first 12 pictures are of the gold SS 396 car and the last 12 pictures are of the red 327 car. I have over 50 pictures of each car if needed. Just email me personally at bavollmert@msn.com or call me at (970) 712-2738 for questions. I must empasize that these are mainly good shells and both are not complete or running cars. Here are the details. The SS 396 has it's original and perfect hood in place, very nice drivers door and damaged passenger door, very nice decklid, and bucket seat interior (not bolted down). The front clip is only bolted in place using a few bolts and solely just for transport. It can be taken off in 5 minutes. The console is also in place but in rough condition. The driveshaft is included and is fine. All glass is fine with the obvious exception of the windshield being broken. Both bumpers are present. All of the front suspension is in place and looks fine. No wheels or tires are on it. The rear end is not in place since it is under the 327 car. A forklift is available to lift this vehicle onto your trailer at no charge. There is some rust. The trunk pan would need replaced. The floor pans in front need patched or replaced and the tunnel has been cut to accept a 4 speed. Rear pans are fine. Both rear quarters need either replaced or lower panels installed. The roof, firewall, rear window area, trunk lip area, and door jambs are all very nice. I did find a stress crack in the frame in the left rear wheel well area about 3-4 inches long that could be easily welded or use the 327 frame to replace it. Door panels in place and all interior trim seems in place but would need replaced/restored. The right front fender would need replaced. The dash/instrument cluster is present but not fully installed. The damaged right windshield pillar needs repaired. The 327 car information is: No interior is present and I have stripped it down to the floor pans for inspection. There is rust in the front pans and they would need replaced. The tunnel was also cut to accept a 4 speed. The left rear pan has a 4 inch spot uner the rear seat area that would need repaired. The trunk pan would need replaced. Both rear lower quarters would need patched or replaced. Both front fenders are decent but not perfect. Both doors are very good. All glass is very good except the windshield. The left front wheel won't turn as a bearing is likely seized up. All front suspension is in place. It has 4 14 inch wheels with tires that hold air for transport on a trailer. The rear end is the 12 bolt from the 396 car and rolls fine. The decklid is very nice. There is no hood. Both bumpers are present. The top, rear glass area, firewall, trunk lip area, and frame are all excellent. The windshield pillars are excellent and the RH one would make a perfect donor for the SS 396 car. The dash/instrument cluster is present but not fully installed. There is an original radiator with shroud that goes with the sale along with a few interior trim spare parts, there are two steering columns and wheels (one installed and operable in the 327 car). This is NOT a project for a beginner. But it is do able for an ambitious restorer. Titles can be obtained for either of these vehicles. I will work with the high bidder to get these vehicles safely on your trailer and I am very flexible about a time line for getting them gone. They will absolutely be sold to the high bidder-no games here! Check my feedback!! Beginning bid wouldn't even buy the hood of the SS 396 car!!
