Vehicle Detail
1941 PACKARD SPECIAL 110 COUPE actual mileage 34215 This coupe is a real time capsule and a blast to cruise in. I purchased this last year and when I got it it had last been registered and onthe road in 1962. The inspection sticker is on the door jam and the registration tag is for 1962 as well. The upholstery was redone in a fifties motif and a custom shifter had been installed on the floor. I like floor shifts myself but all the original linkage is included to put it back to column shift if you prefer. It looks like the original upholstery was just covered so that is a big positive for someone wanting to go back to all original. The tail lights were also replaced with 40 style Ford ones which look fine. All it took to get it back on the road was a water pump, fuel pump, carb rebuild, plugs, points, rear brakes, rear wheel cylinders rebuilt, and master cylinder rebuilt. She starts up and runs smoothly. The ride is unbelievable and the steering is tight and it turns so smoothly you would think it had power steering. They really built theses Packards well back then. The car is almost totally complete and all the original glass is in it. The drivers glass has cracks and soom of the other glass is showing its age but all the windows roll up and down and even the back glass opens out. The original radio, clock, and heater are in the car but I have not tried putting juice to them to see if they work or not. Some of the wiring is getting frayed and should be replaced but I have had no problems so if it works don't mess with it I was always told. The floor pans and trunk are solid and no rust issues that I have found. The trunk lid looked like it was going to be cut in to for some reason and I had it welded up and reinforced on the inside.Other than that a very solid and awesome classic.Last of the pre war Packard coupes. I am very reluctant to part with this but just have too many other projects so here is your shot at grabbing it before I change my mind. Ask questions BEFORE bidding and I will get back with you as soon as I can. International bidders are welcome but please arrange transprt within two weeks.
