Vehicle Detail

You are viewing what I believe to be, the best BGT left, or at least the best one left that you can buy. If there is another one as good, it's not for sale. You can be the next one to have the 48,000 mile service done and have the original owner service book stamped. The first thing to mention on this great example, is the rare factory options. It's equipped with wire wheels, and the rare Boman AM/FM solid state radio, and most of all the very rare and coveted overdrive transmission. The early steel dash MG's rarely had the overdrive option. The paint is not just original paint, it's exceptional original paint, with no sun damage from 39 years of storage, and driven once a month in the warehouse to keep it exercised. The original grille and all other original chrome is show quality and has never been redone. The original interior is the best I've seen. This car has never been apart, so all body panels still have perfect factory alignment. The aluminum hood/bonnet is pristine, and have a look at the original factory spot welds, at the bottom of the rocker panels and dog legs. All the original Triplex glass is excellent. Take a look at the Micro wheel weights that were installed in the mid 60's on the only other set of tires beyond the original Dunlop Road Speeds, of which, one still sits as the spare below the rear hatch, along with the original jack and tool bag. The engine compartment is also completely original including engine paint and all factory stickers, and the wire harness still has all of its color coded cloth covering, without a bad wire in it. Look at the photo's of the wheel wells with their original green painted factory texture coating. All rubber body seals and otherwise are supple and do not need replacement. The original BMC seatbelts are also excellent. This MG could win any concours survivor class, with flying colors. I have restored world class best of show British sports and racing cars and have never found an original MG like this one, and don't ever expect to again. They're only original once, and this is a special opportunity for a discriminating buyer. I have performed the following service on this great car. I rebuilt or replaced all hydraulics even though they were working properly. I installed a new mild steel exhaust system to keep it original and sounding correct, and of course, changed all fluids and filters. The steering wheel cover is for driving with bare hands. If you live in a colder climate, you can remove it and wear driving gloves. Either way, this original Banjo wheel is crack free underneath. I've driven this car over 400 miles without incident, and in overdrive, it cruises easily at 80 MPH, so you wont be intimidated by modern traffic. I've taken over 60 pictures, however the Ebay format only allows 24, so if anyone needs a photo of a specific area, please ask, and include your email address, so I can forward whatever you need. This MG was sold new in California at Bill Young Sport Cars in Montrose, CA. on May 12th, 1967, as documented by the original service book, included in this sale If you have less than 5 positive transactions on Ebay, please contact me first before bidding, to let me know your intentions. If you need help with shipping, I can arrange delivery worldwide, and of course at the buyers expense. Thanks for looking, and good luck bidding.
