1998 Subaru Outback Limited with Modified right hand drive kit made by Postal Things I bought this off a fellow rural carrier. I put in the postal thing RHD kit (value over $1000 kit). The previous subaru owner had a rebuilt transmission and engine installed about 50K miles ago. I have put in a rebuilt alternator, A new battery and a new oil pressure sending unit. I used the car for about a year on the route until our office got all LLVs Items that may need attention: Windshield has a fairly big crack in it. The check engine light comes on sometimes(knock senser), The previous owner had brought it to a mechanic to have the check engine light checked, the mechanic said the knock senser was giving false readings. Neither the last owner or I bothered to change the knock senser and no apparent problems occured. Its a newer engine and transmission so at least the major components should give you many of good years of service. One other thing that probablly need attention is the rear struts should be changed. Going over a bumpy road causes the rear to bottom out. The body also has normal rural carrier wear. The kit can be removed by yourself or Postal Things and tranfered to another subaru. The kit will either fit in a Subaru Forester (I think 1998-2001) or a Outback of similar years ( This car is available for pickup only.
