Vehicle Detail
This is a classic 1965 Chevrolet Impala 4 door Station Wagon 6P . We are not real sure about all the details of this car I am listing it for a friend who inherited it. We believe it is a 1 owner and we know that it has been garaged for over 20 years, the vehicle ran when parked. The owner went blind and never drove it again. This vehicle is all original. Everything on the inside works as it should to our knowledge. This car is in immaculate condition with only 123k original miles on it. Even all of the weather stripping on it is still in excellent condition no cracks or anything. There is no rust on this vehicle and the dash is in excelent shape with no cracks. This vehicle was assembled at the Flint Michigan Plant. The production of this model started at 100001 and this model was # 116316 that was made which means it was the 16,315 of these models made that year. We are also selling a 1966 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham edition that is in the same conditon. I reserve the right to End this Auction at any time as I do have it listed locally and on Monday I have a antique classic car collector coming to look at this vehicle and make me an offer on it, if I decide to take his offer the auction will be ended. Please feel free to email me with any questions or any offers. I am open to offers on the vehicle. Thanks for looking Totally redesigned in 1965, the Impala set an all-time industry annual sales record of more than 1 million units in the U.S., which has never been bettered. All new full-size Chevys eschewed the "X" frame for a full-width perimeter frame, a new body which featured curved, frameless side glass (for pillarless models), sharper angled windshield with newly-reshaped vent windows, and redesigned full-coil suspension. In 1965 Chevrolet introduced the Impala Caprice, exclusively as a four door hardtop. Caprices received unique tufted upholstery, wood grained accents on the dashboard and specialty pulls on the insides of the doors. This "halo" model also featured the "spinner" wheel covers from the Impala SS, with the "SS" logo centers replaced by a Chevy "bowtie" emblem. The Super Sport's blackout rear trim strip below the triple taillights was also used, with the "Impala SS" emblem deleted of course. The Caprice Custom was reintroduced as the Chevrolet Caprice in 1966, taking the top position in the full-size Chevrolet lineup. Engine choices included the inline six-cylinder as well as the famous Chevy small-block and big-block V8s. Automatic buyers were given the option of the newly-introduced three-range Turbo Hydra-Matic transmission for the newly-introduced Mark IV big-block engine, displacing 396 cubic inches. The old 409-cubic-inch (6.7 L) "W" engine was discontinued early in the 1965 model year, so early-production '65s got the 409, as well as 1/10 of 1% had the 396 CID big-block. Moreover, other later-built cars had the 396-cubic-inch (6.5 L) as the big-block option with significant horsepower drawback. Two-range Powerglide, as well as Synchro-Mesh 3- and 4-speed manual transmissions were available. As with previous years, Impalas featured more chrome trim inside and out, with pleated tufted upholstery and door panels. What was Impala's magic formula? Style was paramount, of course. Throughout the early 1960s, Chevrolet's basic body designs became increasingly subtle, while the bright trim that was part of the Impala package added more than a touch of luxury to the look. The same pattern was followed in the interiors, where the best materials and equipment Chevrolet had to offer were displayed. In short, the Impala was on its way to becoming a kind of junior-grade Cadillac, which, for both the company and its customers, was just fine. As it had in 1961, the Impala reached another peak in 1965. Once again, it was a combination of speed and style that brought the fans flocking to dealerships. Under General Motors design chief Bill Mitchell, Earl's successor, Chevrolet stylists produced an exciting shape for the 1965s; long, flowing, simple, and beautifully proportioned. This disciplined design proved to be equally satisfactory to customers looking for either a luxury or performance car; more than 1 million Impala and SS buyers confirmed that. The 1965 Chevrolet was more than a reskinning job. A new full-length perimeter frame with four cross-members replaced the X-type unit, and both front and rear suspensions were revised to improve ride and handling. A wider track front and rear aided stability as well. On Apr-23-11 at 07:12:17 PDT, seller added the following information: There does appear to be some surface rust on this car I am going today to get more pictures and more specs on the car if you have any ??? do not hesitate to ask. I will answer any that I can. As I stated above we don't know a lot about these vehicles that is why we have a collector coming on Monday that has already seen them and wants them so if you have any offers for either of the vehicles please send them to meOn Apr-23-11 at 15:01:52 PDT, seller added the following information: The vehicle does have air in it and it is an automatic with a 327 motor. I did find out that it does run, the guy who owned them even tho he was blind he would go out and crank them up about once a month to keep them running and the batteries charged. He also had a local mechanic shop nearby that would come and get both of the vehicles and do service work on them. It also comes with a cb radio. It has power windows, locks and a cassette player On May-15-11 at 12:26:54 PDT, seller added the following information: The classic car dealer never showed up to look at the cars so we decided to let it sell on Ebay. I also have the picture of the trim tag on the firewall if anyone wants to see it I can email it to you I could not add any more pictures.
