Vehicle Detail
This bike is now probably considered a classic, given its age and condition. It has a four stroke motor, so runs on regular gas, no two-cycle mix. All mechanical devices are working properly on this bike, except what is noted below in blemishes. History: I have owned this bike since 1991, and have had it garage kept the entire time. It was registered and inspected a few times in all of those years (last inspection 1996; recently registered 2009), but I rarely used it, as you can see from the mileage. It was mainly a local runabout on local town streets, and has seen limited off-road use, since I was not really considered a true "dirt biker"; purely a recreational cycler. As you can see from the pictures, it is in fine shape. Things Done to Bike: · Installed a set of front turn singles – they were missing when I bought the bike. · Rebuilt front forks around 2001, since seals were leaking. · New street tires purchased and installed around that time as well. · Purchased new battery last year – still in box. Using bypass device right now. · Changed engine fluids a few seasons ago and installed new spark plug. Blemishes: · Small dent and scrape on front headlight bezel – has been there since I bought it. · Turn signal thumb switch broken off, but still able to flip switch to operate. I was going to shop around for a new switch, never got around to it. · Rear turn single stems are dry-rotted (flexible rubber), so I encased them in electrical tape to do a quick fix, and have held up very well for about two years now. · 5/8” long seam opening on the seat against the fuel tank. Otherwise, the seat is in superb shape given the age. · Engine runs well, but I think it could use a carburetor adjustment, since is a bit sluggish during fast acceleration, and I have not had time to mess with it. Bike also comes with Clymer repair and service manual and extra knobby tire that came with the bike when I bought it (brand new looking!) that was never used, since I only ran it locally on street. It’ll be sad to see it go, but I just don’t have the time for it anymore, hence putting it up for auction at this time. Thanks for bidding!
