1989 VW Cabriolet I am selling one of my VW Cabriolets. I own two and this one is in excellent condition. I have owned four VW’s in the past fifteen years. They are solidly built and a joy to drive. It has been well maintained by the previous owners. It has an extensive service history, with receipts dating back to 1995. All receipts will be included in the sale. When you listen to the motor and drive the car, you know that a lot of time and great care has been taken to keep this vehicle in top condition. Recent health problems forced the previous owner to garage the car for over a year. As you might expect, bad things happen to any car if neglected. Luckily, it was protected from the elements. But, it did require a few corrective measures. Since I’ve owned it, I have driven it on the highway to clear out the bad gas. I have added Marvel Magic Mystery Oil to the gas tank and crankcase over the past two months. It runs strong and the clutch/transmission shifts are clean with no hesitation. I have also completed the following work: · Springs all around · Struts all around · Shocks all around · Temperature sensor switch · Belts (power steering, air conditioner, alternator · Adjust fuel/air mixture · Complete exhaust system w/o catalytic converter · Master cylinder (including bleeding system) · Four (almost new) Kuhmo Solus tires Don’t be frightened by the mileage (207,000) as of the date of this listing. This is a solidly built, well maintained vehicle. It’s perfect for top down cruising on the boulevard or highway. The top is in excellent condition with no rips or tears. It could use a good leather/vinyl treatment. Also, as a preventive measure, the seams could use some attention. There are minor rust spots, but nothing requiring immediate attention. It has a "new" battery (May 2010). Finally, there is peeling of the clear coat on the hood. I have done all the heavy lifting on this beauty. As this is a twenty two year old vehicle, expect some minor rust and other issues. As such, vehicle is being offered as is, where is with no warranty neither expressed nor implied.
