Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 1958 Chevrolet Biscayne sedan with some refinements. I have owned this vehicle (3rd owner) since 2000 and have spent the last ten restoring her. With a “frame-on” restoration, the Biscayne has had the following work performed: Body: Starting with a near perfect body, the original thin silver-blue paint was carefully sanded down to bare metal. The only body damage was a slight scrape on the driver’s side rear door which was easily filled and smoothed. Surprisingly, the ONLY rust on the whole car was at the bottom of the spare tire well- even so the rust was a only a strip 2X6 inch area that was just pin holes and was filled with an aluminum base filler. More details: w Four coats of primer were added with sanding between coats. w Dings and other slight imperfections filled and smoothed. w White primer/sealer applied to all sheet metal. w All side glass removed with 95% of all seals, window channels replaced including the wing window assemblies. w 2-stage paint applied to door jambs, under side of hood and trunk lid as well as the trunk and body. Color is a slight metallic silver-blue very close to the original but with a little more flair. (Note: fire wall painted the original silver blue- check engine compartment picture). Roof and side spear color is 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe dark grey metallic with a hint of pearl which contrasts the silver blue nicely. Three coats of clear sanded down to a final product that is very presentable. w All side stainless removed and polished to an excellent driver quality. w Taillights are in excellent condition- modified with LED lights inside 59 Cadillac lenses. w Bumpers rechromed to driver quality with grey powder coated inserts. w Bottom of doors (inside) and floor boards given a coat of POR15 to ensure years of rust free quality. Drive train: w Early sixties 283 with 500cfm Edelbrock carb, Pertronics ignition. Smoke free. w 700R4 trans with stage 1 shift kit. w New 3-piece driveline with aluminum/polyurethane carrier bearing. w Stock rear axle with 3:32 gears. w Dual exhaust with Smithy mufflers. w Stock power-assist steering. w Stock drum brakes. w Rebuilt generator with new armature. w 15X7 steelies powder coated in red baron- spare tire is original 14X6 which was also powder coated with a brand new skinny-white radial. w Original jack assemblies have been powder coated in reflective chrome finish which matches the interior powder coated items. w 3 inch Jamco Suspension lowering springs front and rear with correct gas shocks. Interior: w New headliner and sun visors in light blue star pattern vinyl. w New medium blue carpet. Tar paper barrier under carpet. w New Belair tri-blue door panels. w New Belair tri-blue seat covers. w All trim metal powder coated in a reflective chrome finish. w Separate gauges for transmission temperature and pressure, engine temperature, pressure and volts. w Mooneyes tachometer. w Original dash in great condition with only minor imperfections. w New rubber trunk mat and card board panels. w Material below beltline on B and C pillars not installed but come with car. Broadway Classic whitewalls with Lancer bullet caps give the Biscayne just the right look. Vehicle is always garaged and driven only on nice- -non rainy days. This is a great cruiser and always gets second looks. Ready for cruising today.
