1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302!!! VIN# 0F02G204xxx 1970 FORD MUSTANG BOSS 302 From MustangBeginnings THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO RESTORE YOUR OWN BOSS 302 MUSTANG HISTORY: The man who came up with the name Boss 302 was stylist Larry Shinoda. The Boss 302, introduced in 1969, was Ford's answer to Camaro Z/28 in SCCA TransAm racing series. Although the 1969 Boss 302 showed a lot of promise by winning the first 3 out of 5 races, it won no more races that year. However, in 1970, with drivers Parnelli Jones and George Follmer, Boss 302 dominated TransAm with 6 wins, 5 seconds, and 4 thirds, culminating in Parnelli Jones winning the driver championship. Rated at 290 HP, the Boss 302 was actually putting out closer to 350 HP with race versions making 450 Horse’s at over 8,000 RPM. 1970 was the year before Ford’s decade of Total Performance drew to a close which now makes these race bred vintage Mustangs one of the most Collectible Muscle Cars of all time. THIS PARTICULAR 1970 BOSS 302 REPRESENTS AN EXTREMELY RARE OPPORTUNITY TO ACQUIRE ONE OF THESE TREASURED CLASSICS, and its options are authenticated by the Marti Auto report shown below. This Boss left the factory painted Yellow with a Black interior. See pictures of finished Boss race cars in with the pictures below. It had the famed Boss 302 engine with the four speed close ratio “toploader” transmission. This is your chance to own a real Boss 302, not a clone! The last three pictures show other finished Bosses... the possiblities are endless! These cars are beautiful! BODY: All the rust repair has been done correctly on this Boss. Please see pictures below from underneath. This Boss is ready for you to finish it! All frame rails, torque boxes were already strong and did not need to be replaced! This car just needs the finishing touches to create your very own Boss 302! PAINT: This Boss has been painted its original Yellow. We painted it using single stage acrylic enamel to give it that "original" look, not the super glossy plastic look that you would get with basecoat/clearcoat. We also installed a Boss 302 stripe kit! The underside has been undercoated for extended durability and the engine bay and trunk have been painted with flat black single stage urethane. The black hood stripe and rear portion of the car have been painted with the correct texture coating in the correct manner for Dearborn-made cars. INTERIOR: This car has its original high back bucket seats and the rear seat. The instrument panel is there, but the car will need a new dash pad, which is normal. For new upholstery, carpet and dash pad, add $1000 for the parts, or $1800 installed. The headliner is definitely in usable condition. The seats are in useable condition, but should be recovered for a completely restored vehicle. DRIVETRAIN: The drive train did not come with this Boss 302 when we purchased it. If you don't have your own Boss engine, please let us know. We have a 0A9 (January 9, 1970) block and heads that could be available separately to the auction winner, please contact us for pricing. The 0A9 block is standard bore (4.00") with a sleeve in one cylinder. SUSPENSION: The front suspension is correct with disk brakes in the front. The calipers are missing, but they are available rebuilt for very little money. A 9" rear end is under the car, but the correct 31 spline axles and nodular case were not present when we purchased the car. The rear staggered shock mounting plates and shocks are all there. The power steering box, center link, and power assist ram are all present. This car would make an awesome Trans Am clone like the Boss 302 Trans Am classics shown in the pictures GLASS: All the glass is in useable condition, but would benefit from some polishing. The door glass is correct 1970 fastback glass. The car will also need seals all around. The hard to find roof rail moldings are included as well. MISC. There were some parts in the car that I am including: There are tail light housing lenses, bezels, and lenses A brake booster and master cylinder (good to help offset the core charges!) The top covers of the door panels The wiper motor and linkage Underdash and headlight harnesses Brake, clutch, and gas pedals I HAVE 100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK AND PLAN TO KEEP IT THAT WAY! THERE ARE NO SURPRISES HERE, I ENCOURAGE ALL THOSE WHO BID TO COME SEE THE CAR FIRST IF POSSIBLE OR SEND SOMEONE HERE TO INSPECT IT. WE HAVE COMPLETED OTHER 70 BOSS 302 MUSTANGS AND KNOW WHAT IT TAKES TO COMPLETE THIS CAR. THIS IS A GOOD CAR TO START WITH. PLEASE REMEMBER THIS IS A 70 BOSS 302 FASTBACK MUSTANG THAT DESERVES TO BE RESTORED INTO SOMETHING SPECIAL. AGAIN, I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE ALL BIDDERS TO CHECK THE CAR OUT IF POSSIBLE THAT WAY THERE ARE NO MISUNDERSTANDINGS, MISTAKES, MISCOMMUNICATION, AND ALL THE OTHER MISES. THE CAR MIGHT NEED THINGS I DID NOT LIST BUT THE MAJOR ONES HAVE BEEN LISTED. I PUT THE WORD PROJECT IN THE DESCRIPTION TO COVER ANYTHINGS I MIGHT HAVE NOT SEEN. I HAVE THE CAR FOR SALE LOCALLY AND RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END AUCTION EARLY.
