This pristine car is available and being re-listed due to a faulty sale. Please bid with confidence, but mean it if you do, as the car will not last long. You could look a long time and not find a better example of the classic 1974 Targa. Cosmetically and mechanically this car has been maintained meticulously throughout it's 37 years. Anything and everything the car needed has been done. It has always been garage kept,has never been in an accident, and has absolutely no rust or other body issues. The same non-smoker has owned and cared for the car for the last 20 years. Average annual miles driven during this time is less than 2000 per year. I hope the car will go to a true Porsche lover who will give it the same level of care it has always had. The exterior paint is the rare Porsche Persian Green Metallic with Clearcoat finish. It was done in a "bare metal up" restoration and clearly shows its superior quality workmanship. Interior seats were reupholstered in an identical but more breathable version of the original material. A Panasonic AM/FM Stereo and CD player with removeable faceplate replaced the original Blaupunkt. Sound is enhanced with surround speakers in the doors and rear. Rear speaker installation does not conpromise the deck lid; the speaker set sits on top of the rear window deck. The car has a motion sensor built into the trunk. It is operational but not currently plugged in. There is also a custom car storage cover and a travel bra, and an extra set of rugs. The factory tool kit , original owners manual and emergency equipment and a maintenance file are also included. I will provide the successful bidder with the maintenance files, as well. The fuel injected 2.7 liter engine runs strong and with power; the 5-speed transmission shifts effortlessly and there's plenty of clutch. Tires are Goodyear Eagle radials with 80+ percent of the tread remaining. Brakes were redone less than 2000 miles ago. A complete engine overhaul with new generator, gaskets sets and seals was done last fall. The battery is less than a year old. There are no leaks, and all the gauges, including the clock, work well. A new windshield was installed last fall as well.The Targa top is in great shape, as well. It fits securely and collapses correctly for storage. The rear seats are pristine, and have hardly ever seen a rear ! Interior carpets and trunk lining are all in great shape. It's ready to roll.
