Vehicle Detail

This ’84 Mustang GT Turbo is one of 652 black coupes built that year. It runs and drives great. It is a Western car with a very nice, rust-free body and rust-free floor pans. A couple of years ago, I had the original black paint re-sprayed (with all the trim removed) and installed new graphics. I also cleaned up the interior with new carpet, headliner and other trim pieces. The dash pad is perfect. It has the original AM/FM cassette radio, along with a bunch of other original parts, including the sun shade for the cargo area (sorry, the sunroof storage bag isn’t there). There’s also a lean-free driver’s seat. The car shows 132,000 miles, but the engine was rebuilt a couple of years ago and has probably 1,200 miles on it (the car is only used in the summer). I also had the turbo rebuilt by Precision Turbo. It was put back together in stock condition. There are no modifications. When the engine went back in the car, I also installed a completely new exhaust system, including converter, with original-style exhaust tips. There’s also a new clutch. These cars tended to run warm, so I installed a 3-row radiator and it now runs super cool. I also wired the electric fan to a discreet manual switch. Since rebuilding the engine and installing the 3-row radiator, the engine hasn’t come even close to running warm or hot. It’s very dependable in traffic and the radiator cools so much, I’ve only had to activate the fan in heavy stop and go traffic. The tires and brakes are like new and the car goes down the road without shakes or vibrations. In the interest of full disclosure, there is a small coolant leak that appears to be coming from the water pump. I installed a new pump during the rebuild, so I suspect it is the gasket. To be honest, it drips, but hasn’t been a big enough problem to for me to repair yet. The same goes for a few drops of oil that appear on the garage floor after the car is turned off. Other than that, the car has no other issues. Get in, turn the key and go. I’m asking $3,900. You can call me at 248-302-2608 for more info and the car is located in Dexter, Mich. (near Ann Arbor) for inspection. Thanks.
