Vehicle Detail

1967 W200 Power Wagon The truck is a titled and registered W200 Power Wagon, with original VIN and data plate. In 1997, I bought this 1967 W200 from it owner for $350. The owner had smashed into a low piece of concrete and damaged the front clip and the front of the frame. I let the truck sit for 4 years until I found a 1967 D100 with straight frame. The 1967 D100, D200, W100, and W200 all have the same frame including spring perches. I also bought a 1968 D200 for parts. I built the truck you see on the D100 frame using parts from all 3 trucks. Body: Grill is from 1971 Dodge because I liked it more. Radiator support, fenders, hood are stock 1967. Cab is super nice. It is the stock big rear window cab (no blind spot). Doors are stock. You can tell the 1967 doors because they are the only year with the push button handles on the outside and the lever handles on the inside. The glass is stock and excellent condition: no cracks. The windshield does have a couple of wiper blade scratch marks, but they are not noticeable. The bed is stock. Like the grill, the front and rear bumpers are later Dodge pieces that I added. Overall the body is straight. There is no rust in the frame, cowl, and floors. The cab needs the rockers replaced. The doors have small holes at the lower corners that have been bondo-ed. The outer panels of the bed are rust free. The inner panels have 2 small holes near the rear. The taillight panels have rust below the reverse lens. The paint job is my amateur work, XO Rust Blue, spray can. I did it to prevent rust and make the body all one color. I also painted the undercarriage black. All external lights work properly. Engine: 1971 360 V8, 9:1 compression, Hughes cam (HE1423AL .470"/.504" Lift, 214/223 Deg @ .050"), Holley 750 carb, DUI electronic HEI distributor, 2.25” exhaust. Quite fast and fun to drive. I have always run premium gas. The gas tank is stock. I had it boiled out and sealed. I spent $3000 to rebuild the engine & I have put about 5200 miles on the truck since rebuild. Transmission: I did have to cut out some of the inner structure of the bell housing to make the 360 flywheel fit. I do have a stock bell is you want to go back to a 318 V8. The ring gear and starter are stock. The clutch is stock hydraulic. The trans is stock NP435, 4 speed with granny gear. The trans is rebuilt. 1st gear is unsynchronized. I usually launch in 2nd. The trans shifts smoothly to 3rd and 4th. The transmission wants to grind gears when downshifting from 3rd to 2nd if the truck is moving. It downshifts fine if the truck is still. I had the transmission pulled apart a 2nd time. Apparently the synchronizer is OK. Usually, I just depress the clutch and go thru turns in 3rd. Transfer Case is stock NP201, divorced. It has the stock split shifter and 4wd works well. The 3 driveshafts are stock. There is a separate Posi-Lock pull cable on the dash to engage the driver side of the front axle. This replaces the vacuum system that was used to engage these later axles. Axles: Both are 4:10 gear ratio, which is the correct ratio on the data plate. Dana 44 & 60, 8-lug, are stock for the W200. When I got the truck, the rear axle was bad, so I replaced it with a 1974 Dana 60, 4.10 gears. The front axle was more of a chore. I wasted $700 on rebuilding the original axle. I never got it to stop leaking oil at the axle shaft joints. Also, with 4 wheel drums, the truck refused to stop straight. I sold the original front axle and installed a 1993 Dana 44, 4.10 gears, disc brakes. It stops straight and quick and doesn’t leak. Tires: BF Goodrich 33x12.5x16.5 Mud Terrain Radials. They are in good condition. Tread depth is 9/16” and higher. I really like the way they ride. As with many oversize tires, if you turn the steering wheel to the extreme left, the left side front tire does bump the drag link for the steering. I never expected to take tight turns in a 1967 full size dodge truck, so this problem never bothered me. Interior: I had the seat recovered in black cloth/vinyl. The Dash shell and gages are stock. The gages, dash lights, and dome light work. I always liked the Tic-Tock-Tachs in the 1968-1970 Chargers. I bought one from Charger Specialties and installed it center dash. The clock has never worked right, but the tach does work. I do have an uncut dash shell if you’d like to return to stock or you could install a different tach. The heater fan does not work. Overall: The truck is a good strong machine. It has significantly less rust than most east coast trucks. It will drive you home, wherever home is. I’ve got about $10000 in it and hundreds of hours of labor, so I think my reserve and Buy-It-Now are generous. Usual Stipulations: The truck is sold as-is and without warranty of any kind. Shipping or pick up is completely your responsibility, although I am willing to help. A non-refundable deposit of $500 is due within 48 hours of the end of auction. Full payment is due within 7 days of the auction. The truck cannot be picked up until your PayPal or check for remainder of auction price has cleared my bank account.
